781. Metagaming and Factional Warfare : Amarr - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Do you have any idea how many civilian shield boosters Ironfleet Towing and Salvage has it its hangars? Yeah, neither do I, but there's a lot of them. ------------------ Ironfleet.com

782. Sandbox Options and Faction Warfare - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Yeah, I know what I'm suggesting. The idea that you pick a faction and you're stuck with it (loyal to it, solid in your hostility to its enemies) makes good sense to me. And enforcing that with faction system only makes sense. But this *is* a sa...

783. Summa summarum (Epic Summary of Audio Blog and FW chibi mega thread) - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
I listened to the recording of the chat, and it sounds to me as if: 1) If you're part of the FW apparatus, you will be effectively "at war" (existing war mechanics) with anybody on an opposing faction you may encounter in hisec; BUT 2) If y...

784. Metagaming and Factional Warfare : Amarr - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Edited by: Marlenus on 15/05/2008 23:54:26 I would indeed expect that any significant fleet organization would take place within militia-aligned corps. But there will be (or at least, I hope there will be) a lot of zerg rushs mediated by the m...

785. Sandbox Options and Faction Warfare - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
@Hammer: awesome! It doesn't have to be easy -- in fact, it should be weeks of pain and drudgery IMO -- but I think there should always be a way out of any faction hole. ------------------ Ironfleet.com

786. Faction warfare is just new targets for pirates - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Pirates tend to be a problem for the casual player because the casual player meets them alone, or in a small/weak group. If the FW mechanism allows that same casual player to easily get together with thirty or forty friends for a jaunt into low s...

I love the green lights! Well, white lites, actually -- because I'm partly color blind and there's not enough green in them for me to see. But they are bright and I love them! ------------------ Ironfleet.com

789. An overview of Empyrean Age, new Dev Blog by Greyscale - in EVE Information Portal [original thread]
Obviously we need to see the blog that talks about the FW rewards, before that we're just speculating. But I don't see contextual (FW only) reduction in the death penalty as a bad thing. There's lots of screaming in this thread about the risks of...

Edited by: Marlenus on 14/05/2008 23:12:01 Heh, Tchell, no way am I going to advocate spoiling our fun! Nope, just trying to expand the scope of our activities in a way that doesn't stomp on anybody's toes and lead to terrible screaming. -----...

792. A Question of Gaming Ethics - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Edited by: Marlenus on 14/05/2008 21:25:52 1) I'm a salvager, an aggressive one. 2) Because it's fun, and I'm a packrat; hauling stuff home to my hangars makes me happy. 3) What do morals have to do with a computer game? I am baffled by thi...

797. Anyone fancy for loot and salvaging? - in Player Features and Ideas Discussion [original thread]
Judging by all the abandoned salvage I find, LOTS of people mission without salvaging. I don't actually think a salvage industrial would necessarily speed things up -- it would surely be slower to close on the wrecks than the ships currently used...

799. Anyone fancy for loot and salvaging? - in Player Features and Ideas Discussion [original thread]
I strongly disagree that salvage is boring -- it's central to my game enjoyment -- but I would go wild with joy for a salvage-specced industrial. Non-weaponized high slots and the ability to fit for decent speed are essential; some tractor beam lo...
