141. Sov based gate and outpost guns - long read. - in Player Features and Ideas Discussion [original thread]
I like this idea. Gate guns at the "capitals" of your claimed space and some select chokepoints sound nice. This would at no means hurt small gang warfare. Hacs/Recons and other cruiser sized ships will be gone before any of the POS-like guns ev...

142. Wine 1.1.38 regression - crash on icon generation - in Linux [original thread]
Yes, cache fully cleared (rm * in cachedir) the crashes seem to be gone. I can lock and shoot targets, but I get no icons. Only a black icon picture, be it in space or in the hangar. Well at least It doesn't crash. Reverted back to .37

143. Wine 1.1.38 regression - crash on icon generation - in Linux [original thread]
You might want to reopen that bug. I built with Stefans Patches and the crashes seem gone. However, there are still black icons for ships, all modules and blueprints for me. Can somebody confirm this?

I fear that there is no simple or easy answer to your question. It all depends on your linux-related skills. As soon as you know what you do, you would be able to run Eve trough wine on almost all current distributions. Also since the kernel (wh...

146. Wine 1.1.38 regression - crash on icon generation - in Linux [original thread]
No crashes here but no icons either. It works as long as there are already cached icons, otherwise the icons are mostly black or white with a faint outline. PS: Voted

147. Salvage Beams cause FPS drop to the point of freezing - in Linux [original thread]
The current Nvidia 195.36 beta driver has a regression fix: "Fixed a regression that made the "TVStandard" X configuration option cause system hangs with products from the GeForce 6 and 7 series." Maybe you should give it a try.

You might give this a try. http://art.ified.ca/?page_id=40 Then you will find a "pulse" driver in your winecfg-audio window. This should directly route the stream without trying to go through the underlying alsa interface. You could also check...

151. Real Fleet Combat - in Player Features and Ideas Discussion [original thread]
In real life, there are difficulties if you switch too many high-power tracking radars to one target, because the echos and jitter confuse the fire-control radars. So in EvE you could implement something similar. It seems impossible that any shi...

You have to kill belt rats to get lvl 1 in military. Then -mostly after a downtime- the anomalies will spawn. It is possible, even in a system with just 1 or 2 belts. Keep on killing NPC's, you will get your levels.

Mmh first you could check, if its a DNS or real connection issue. Get an ip address with nslookup and enter this directly. PS: Since I have multiple netcards/wlan I have ipmasq/dnsmasq installed, maybe you could try this or equivalents?

The IGB uses some really strange ports to connect anywhere. Check your firewall settings or the logs, which outgoing ports failed.
