21. shield question - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
Note that if you're actively shield tanking, and still have capacitor left (to run the shield booster), after your shield comes back up again it will ofcourse continue to filter damage. Also there is a skill called tactical shield manipulation th...

22. Destroyers - waste of time for new players? - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
One other thing, the destroyer will actually let you finish that dreaded "Worlds Collide" mission (L1). You can't bring a cruiser into that mission, and frigates pop pretty fast (assuming you're a fairly unskilled player and using tech 1 frigates).

23. cloaking devices - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
Well, most of the relevant stats are right in the module info, available from your market window. The only thing I didn't really understand the first time through, was that very few ships can actually use the fancy tech II cloak, which is the onl...

24. missiles - the boom just flashy, or is it actually good dmg in PvP? - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
In terms of damage alone, missiles are only average. Guns are far superior - IF you are at a good range for them, and especially tech II. While tech II missiles and launchers really suck bad. In fact, with close range gun setups like blasters, yo...

25. How to warp faster? - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
Quote: "Strange.. both my pilgrim and zealot are warping at the same speed - 4.5 AU/sec Maybe i should get tech 1 cruiser to test that out :D Don't forget when in a gang, you all warp as slow as the slowest ship. So I'm told :)

26. Other skills to reduce cap recharge time? - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
A couple of things to note about cap use, and such. First, cap recharging is not linear. In fact, you get the most cap points per second recharge when it's at roughly 30%. It's about 2x the basic rate. In other words, if you have 1000 cap, and it...

27. Hitting rogue drones with guns. Can I just pistol whip 'em?? - in Missions & Complexes [original thread]
Well, I was at a dead stop, and there was no transverse velocity. That's what was so confusing. Shouldn't I be able to hit a smaller ship if we're both essentially motionless? I'll try a target painter instead, as it's quit clear that webbing doe...

28. Hitting rogue drones with guns. Can I just pistol whip 'em?? - in Missions & Complexes [original thread]
Oh man! I'm training an alt to use guns. I now have a thorax doing L2 missions with 4x dual 150mm rails. Why the duals? Tracking speed. Or so I thought. Anyway, I nab a rogue drone mission, get some rogues around me, and literally cannot hit them...

30. Covert Ops Pilot - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
CVops ships have another slight disadvantage - you can't jump through a gate cloaked. You have to uncloak, then jump. On the other side of the gate, you can't activate your cloak again until the normal gate-jump cloaking is interrupted. So you typ...

31. Can we please be able to choose like ten skill ahead of time instead o - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
Just checking, but you do realize you can abort a skill mid-training, and you won't lose the skillpoints? I have never done what you've been doing. Always switch to a long skill for overnight, and do the short ones when I know they'll finish at a...

32. How are some people getting 28 in multiple attributes? - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
I really wouldn't worry about it. The differences in training times for people with 28 in one thing, versus say, 24, isn't huge (except perhaps for the really really long skills). The disadvantage they have though, is that they probably built a f...

33. Fitting advise for very new players. - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
Nice work! A couple of suggestions though (ofcourse :) ). If you can, make some of it a bit more concise, it may be a bit too wordy for noobs that don't know what a lot of this all means yet. Also, as an intro, consider explaining the basics fir...

34. Covert Ops - Can You See Me Now? - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
One last thing to add, is you can't jump through a gate while cloaked. So when you approach a gate, one of two things happen: - you warp right in on the gate, and since you're closer than 2km, it decloaks you anyway. - you get close to the gate, ...

35. double post - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]

36. Best race for starting out? - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
The reason you aren't likely to get many replies, is that in Eve, you are *not* shoehorned in to anything by choosing a "wrong" starting race. You can train for any kind of ship you like, from any race, at any time in your career. The only benef...

37. A Thorax or Osprey for mining - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
An osprey can fit the mining lasers with no problem, have some small mining or combat drones, *AND* fit a shield booster or afterburner and a few other things. Very handy for fending off rats!

38. Making ISK eh... - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]

39. [Revelations] Help me fit a Ferox - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
I went a totally different route in terms of tanking. I went fully active. Why you ask? For one thing, I can't stand having to warp out of the last level of a multilevel mission :) Also, nothing beats active tanking in terms of regen amount. It j...

40. Warp Scrizzled, Pod Kizzled - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
Don't warp at zero, should have been "don't warp to 0 km". In other words, if you warp to an object, and the people chasing you suspect which direction you've gone to, they can follow. And if they warp to 0km from that object, and you're just sitt...
