This entire logic doesn't apply to tech 2 ships anyways, there are some which acctually have less EM resistance then explosive because tech 2 ships just get a ridiculous bonus to two resistance types...

I don't see the merit in that setup at all really, the idea of the autocanon ship is pointless given the fact that the Typhoon will always be stronger at short ranges, though far more skill intensive. I think the Tempest should be a shield tanked...
