4. So last night I got killed for the first time...help me out. - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
My advice is to look at the guy's kills and losses and put that into perspective. For the first 6 months of this year he's gotten 3,772 kills. That's a lot. But he's also lost 98 ships. If you look at his record for the previous year you'll notice...

7. Ship fitting advice for losec tourist - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
For just roaming around and looking at stuff use a shuttle, and plot your route carefully. Use the in-game map, and view the statistics of "pilots in space," "ships destroyed," and "pods destroyed." Avoid the giant glowing orbs as much as possible...

8. How good is EVE for PvE focused solo play? - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
PvE in EVE isn't that great. Solo PvE is even worse, as it's very repetitive and predictable. PvP in EVE is pretty amazing. Solo PvP is incredibly challenging, very absorbing, and often very punishing. If you play EVE and have never given the PvP...

13. is mining for me? - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
I started out in EVE mining. I skilled up to fly a Hulk, and eventually joined a corp that briefly mined in wormhole space. You'd think that going from mining Veldspar in high-sec to mining ABC ore in the far reaches of a wormhole would be this hu...

17. Why has the game become more expensive to play? - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
ISK is hard to get when you're new because you're new. It's got little to do with skill points and lots to do with the fact that you don't yet know where to look to make decent in-game cash. There's loads of ISK out there, and loads of people with...

20. Possible to become self sustaining in 14 day trial? - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
EVE is totally worth $15 a month, but if you get a rush off of "needing the money" then try scamming for it. I've never scammed ISK, because it makes me feel icky. I have fallen for a few scams, though, which is proof that they work.
