1. The best distro for eve and all that goes with it - in Linux [original thread]
I personally use Gentoo, but I don't think it's the best for Just Eve. Gentoo shines when you have many worflow or personal preference requirements for features / application versions that are not satisfied all together by a binary distribution. ...

6. wine versions < 1.8 rc-4? not working -- why? can this be fixed? - in Linux [original thread]
So yeah, apparently it's actually somewhere in the late 1.7.x series where it starts working, but I get goofy cursor corruption with the late 1.7.x series that isn't fixed until 1.8.

7. wine versions < 1.8 rc-4? not working -- why? can this be fixed? - in Linux [original thread]
wine versions back as far as 1.6.2 (what I used to run and earliest I tested) "work", but only for a few frames after selecting character, then they crash. This was a very recent issue introduced by an Eve patch I believe around 2015-12-10 (e.g. ...

I've seen that thread, but being as my issue was neither correlated with the recent update nor has audio ever been enabled I've assumed its unrelated. I will try renaming the Jukebox folder for giggles, though.
