Originally by: Altarane ... However, I just think we shouldn't act on these forums as if scamming is something good or worthy, and as if the victim is not entitled to feeling peeved. Maybe the victim should be more carefuly next time, but ...

1582. Maths genius REFUSES $1m prize for solving a math problem - in Out of Pod Experience [original thread]
One other thing that could be a factor in some cases is that as you get older you come to care less and less about societies bull ****, especially if you are a fairly intelligent person. It's boring for really intelligent people to be around aver...

1583. Is there anything I can do? - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
Originally by: Altarane ... these forums are way too tolerant of amoral behaviour in my opinion (fortunately without the cconsequences of real life, but amoral nonetheless). EVE is an immoral game. Look at the tone that is set with t...

Yeah, that could be. It would not be at odds with what I was told by that GM. The trouble is ... it's just more speculation by yet another player. What we need is specific, detailed descriptions of exactly how things work written by the developer...

1586. Is there a way to update your character on the test server? - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
They've been doing some lag tests in the last week or so, so they may have just updated it. I would imagine they don't update it like monthyly or bimonthy - but rather in anticipation of a test. Orbiting vs. Kiting Faction Schools

1587. EVE's next expansion and its features - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
I think there is supposed to be some kind of tie in with Dust 514 and Planetary Resources. For myself - while I can certainly see the purpose in Dust - I've never been able to fathom what anyone cares about WIS for. Unless it is in preparation f...

1588. A few more questions - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
1) My understanding is that is referring to being scanned down by sensor probes. I don't believe it has an effect on cargo/ship scanners - I believe those work if you are in range and that's it. I'm not sure of all the details - but you have scann...

1589. Money problem - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
OK ... My understanding is this: 1) You will automatically get a certain percentage of your ships value in insurance if it is destroyed without paying anything. I forget what that percentage is. It's kind of like the 900k clone you will automati...

1590. News? - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]

1591. What was I supposed to do? - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
As for checking out missions in your pod (which the rats won't shoot), sometimes the mission will not let you through the acceleration gate in a pod - in which case you can use a rookie ship. The rats blow up up inside - and you are then in your ...

Depends on what I'm doing. If I'm mining ... a lot of the time I listen to the TV. Just have to pay a little more attention if I'm doing that in a .8 or lower system. There - it helps to be attuned to that "Pew! ... Pew! ... Pew!" sound of weapon...
