Someone explained the cost as "firing Feroxes at the enemy" ... It's basically been pre-nerfed because CCP don't want to have the same problem as with the doomsday device, which was causing people to quit en masse.

The great thing about smartbombs is their damage applies to all ships in radius, effectively multiplying your DPS. The radius is calculated from your hull not the centre of your ship, so the larger the ship the better. Plus, having lots of stuff ...

Firing a single shot at an unagressed NPC will aggro them to you, as will using an EW module on them such as a target painter. I'm not sure of the effects of ECM on NPCs, whether it causes them to switch targets or not.

Yup, I think Deimos with sensor boosters + faction AM would do very nicely. If you leave off the MWD you might be able to fit 250s.

What ship/race are you in? Destroyers are particularly vulnerable to missiles. It will be easier when you get a cruiser, and easier still when you fit 50% hardeners. Because missiles only do one damage type, you can fit two hardeners of that type...

It depends on your ship bonuses, but yes, railgun tracking sucks. The larger ones do have more range for the same ammo type. Small rails nonetheless work very well on lots of setups where medium guns don't fit.

Larger plates have diminishing returns on grid. Maybe try 800mms only + Trimark Armor pump rigs? Certainly RCU + plate of size 2X can always be improved by fitting two plates of size X, which takes up less grid.

It's actually sort of viable if you don't mind being really slow, but plates + Trimark Armor pump is much better and easier to repair after the fight.
