Edited by: Whitehound on 18/01/2011 12:51:28 You should wait after the Incursion expansion has been released, which is today. Then wait a little longer and check here on the forum if the new expansion brings problems for Linux/WINE or if EVE ...

Originally by: Morgenholt Blue Could always do what Valve did for Mac and not actually rewrite it but add OpenGL and translate DX calls to the respective OpenGL ones. It is slower and you would not have as good performance as running it on...

106. Strange Consistent Freeze - in Linux [original thread]
Can be anything. If your hardware is not running hot then it could be the NVidia driver. 260-series seems still a bit buggy. If you are using 256- or 260-series try to use the 195-series. If the hardware is running hot then start with cleaning d...

107. A real joint request action to get a fully supported Eve linux client. - in Linux [original thread]
I believe that CCP has got enough projects to work on as it is, and that it was a good decision to drop the native Linux client to focus more on a single platform. I, too, was disappointed to see the Linux client disappear, but in return do I now ...

109. Ubuntu 10.10 64bit Eve crashes when i alt+tab or switch workspace. - in Linux [original thread]
Just a guess, but are you using an NVidia card? If so then remove the NVidia driver release 260 and install 195.36.31. Might be that the last release of the 256 releases will work, too. I have not tested it. I do have however the same problem when...

112. anyone here manage to have a stable eve while being windowed? - in Linux [original thread]
Try an older NVidia driver. The 260-series seems to have a few bugs under Linux (64 bit). Even in full desktop mode does Wine+EVE occasionally crash when one switches through virtual desktops under X11. The last of the 195-series seems not to have...

113. Incursion fails to start under Linux - in Linux [original thread]
I have found my problem. Debian has released minor updates to the X11 core files one or two days before Incursion was released, which simply trashed the NVidia driver. After un- and reinstalling the NVidia driver is it now working again. --

Hello, I was hoping to find a thread about it, but I must be alone with my problem. I am using WINE 1.2.1 under Debian 5 with an NVidia GTX260. It worked well for as far as I can remember and with Incursion it now fails to start. Only the splash...
