Today the Minmatar Militia Captured Ezzara. A united Minmatar Militia fleet brought the System under Minmatar control after a long struggle to make the system vulnerable. Great Job to all pilots involved.

A noted unfortunate development. I for one will be interested to see in what manner the tribals treat it, given their attitude towards the previous occupancy changes.

After our earlier victories against the Minmatar insurgents, such a setback is disappointing but not unsurprising.
As I have often said in the past, the war will be a long one and its tides will ebb and flow before the Shakorites are finally overwhelmed.

Every system they occupy, is a sign the Empire is about to fall. Obviously. The Faith was wrong, all this time, who'd have thought?
Every system they lose, is merely a worthless collection of rocks orbiting a useless star. Such is clear to the trained observer.
Every system they occupy then lose, is merely a sideshow, a distraction, from the real victories that they're achieving, you know, elsewhere. In secret.

Edited by: MobyMule on 17/02/2009 16:16:01 You should have seen all the joyful tears and smiles from our people that we freed who were slaves in that bunker. It was a beautiful sight to behold. That is why we fight for our brothers and sisters so that they can know what liberty and freedom taste like. So that they can be free to choose for themselves.

This show that the tribals remain a threat and the Crusade has to stay alert to defeat them. The minmatar may be barbarians, but they do know how to fight. |

Ezzara was retaken once, it will be retaken again, can the same be said for Lantorn?

I thought chestbeating was reserved for tribals - do you want some spare bongos?
I've said it when Lantorn was lost, and I will say it again now that Ezzara was retaken: This war is not over. It will last for years to come. Systems will be gained, systems will be lost. Admiral Blake is very right in this.

It is not the land we are fighting for, it is the freedom for our people. We have found slavecamps on Ezzara where Amarr slavers were feeling save in to commit their crimes on humanity, save in lowsec, save protected by the guns of Amarr Empire and benevolently tolerated, no encouraged by the Amarr leaders to commit crimes on our people that are beyond imagine. I can't express how I feel after I've seen what de facto enslaving of our people means. How the brutal truth behind your pretty words and euphemisms is looking like in reality.
Nothing but brutally and misanthropic exploitation of everything that is not ready to fight you with a gun in her hand. In the name of god, sure. I reject this god, Amarr. For your god is the enemy of freedom, peace and future for everything but your race, your cause and your Empire.
Your Empire has to go if the universe wants to live. Ezzara is free again, Lantorn will follow and I hope many other systems in its wake. Take your rotten lies of Pax Amarria and go back to your Amarr Prime. We know what you are hiding under your habit, monks. We have seen it on Ezzara. -- FREEDOM, PUNK & AUTOCANNONS

Oh my. unsubstantiated accusations is it? How anyone who can cheerfully support an Empire whose entire basis for action seems to be on the idea that they are guided by the magic man in the sky can be so hypocritical is beyond me.
"We are better because God made us better."
"We are your masters because it is Gods will."
"We are the only ones who know the truth."
What are these if anything other than unsubstantiated fedo-dung? You dare demand prove of something from anyone when your answer to any counter argument against your so called God is to mumble about Faith and not needing proof? Go back to your little self-righteous corner of the universe Mr. Laebetrovo and leave any attempt at discussion to those who has some sort of grip on reality.

Hm. Well, if you read closely, Shern, she hasn't really made any specific accusations here. Nor did she allege much more than vitoc and cruelty in her journal post on Ezzara. Really, all she's alleged are crimes "beyond imagin[ing]," which is pretty easily explained by a weak imagination (or at least one with a limited appetite for cruelty).
The rest is all moral outrage.
Mind you, I'm not sure that's a weakness. Ms. Wildfire isn't taking you to task for some isolated incidents; she's calling the Empire to account for its routine, daily, systemic cruelties. Her statements here merely echo the general Matari horror of the Empire's religiously-inspired slave trade. She's a bit strident about it, but that's really all she seems to be on about-- and, of course, she's far from the only one.
It's a mark of how irreconcilable the sides have become that your daily routine is her atrocity. There's nothing for it, now, but war.

I couldn't have stated this fact better myself. It's part of the reason why I've given up on arguing points about Imperial ways with outsiders. Even though I agree with them on most parts, I simply cannot stand the single-minded rage towards the Empire they posses and their blind conclusion that the only possible solution to the problem is to bring it crashing down in the name of vengeance, no matter the cost in lives. Ms. Wildfire here taught me the bitter lesson that there is simply no point in debating with her kind; even though I am a reformist, I'm still loyal to the Empire and am dedicated to its preservation and betterment, while she is dedicated to its destruction and enfeeblement. While I once had a friendly discourse with her in the hopes she might see the good of the Empire, we are irreconcilable enemies. She deserves neither my respect nor my mercy if she is going to threaten my people and Empire with her now famous statement "Burn Amarr", no matter what moral outrages she might have. Conversely, I make the admission that I do not deserve her respect for defending an Empire that I admit has made terrible mistakes in the past and still continues them today.
This aside, the capture of Ezzara only means that the sides in this conflict are evenly matched. Which is how it should be. When Kourmonen was retaken I felt that my job in the militia was mostly done; a balance of power between the Crusaders and Tribals was established, and both sides had their original sovereign territories under control. I personally believe in defending the Empire but not furthering the Reclaiming, so when the Ordo withdrew from the militia after the taking of Lantorn, I felt fine. The taking of Ezzara after it is merely a sign of a healthy stalemate between two mortal enemies who only will only further our two peoples' long tradition of atrocity upon each other if one ever gains the upper hand. I pray the balance holds.

It doesn't change the respect for you, Aldrith Shutaq, that you say that you don't respect me anymore. I do see the good will even in my mortal enemy and that they try to change the things in the right direction. I never will forget your good deeds of the past.
If you decide to keep loyal to your Empire, I can't hold it against you. Loyalty is a virtue. My opinion is, that this loyalty is wasted for an Empire that has proved that it can't change its agenda from inside without massive pressure on it from the outside.
"Burn Amarr, burn!", I always say. And this does not mean the farms and homes. I refer to the palaces of might, to the places that hold the vicious agenda of this empire up against all humanism. And these places are the palaces of the mighty and the temples of those who preach hate, who preach the submission and enslaving the superiority of the Amarr race above any other.
I am with those who fight the imperialists, the racists, the slavers. I fight with those who fight for freedom, liberty and equaty. And I fight those who try to distort the value of this with their words. I fight for the slaves and for those who are forbidden to prosper and grow in this world. For those who have no future without this fight. Who have no future as long as this Empire exists.
I do not fight for hate. But if you try to build up something new you sometimes have to burn down what is standing on the ground of it. And some ruins are beyond refurbishing. You have to burn them down to plant new seeds in the ashes. Seeds that will grow fruit for everyone. Not just for the mighty. Not just for the establishment. Not on the shoulders of billions of slaves. -- FREEDOM, PUNK & AUTOCANNONS
