...the real stuff, Icelandic Krona!
I'm going on a long weekend trip to Iceland in the middle of March and I would like to purchase about ú50-60 worth of Icelandic Krona, but it is proving not to be easy!
Does anyone know of a company/bank/website which still sells Krona?

I'm nearly certain that they would accept Euro. Maybe even GBP. Also, surely you could change locally.

If Maestro cards work out there, just use that or get the cash from an ATM?

Exchange your currency at the airport or downtown when you get here. Also bear in mind that Iceland is geared up for cashless transactions. You can pay for everything from home delivery pizza to cars with your credit card, negating the need for cash.

Honestly, there's a currency exchange terminal (or twenty) in almost every international airport. They trade your currency for a very mild fee. As posted above, I'd be highly surprised if Iceland were an exception to this rule ----------------

They don't, but the Visa Debit cards do, also The major hotels and the airport have facilities to exchange cash. ------

Just get it once you're there.
And if inflation is still as rampant as when I was there in the summer, if you have multiple cards, use credit over debit for major purchases, letting the inflation chip away at it. This is of course provided that you have decent terms on your card.
