I just got into level II missions today. I've had an Omen for awhile now and have the money to get a Battlecruiser. I keep hearing people say that I shouldn't fly a bigger ship until you have the skills, but I have no idea what skills I should have.
Just wondering if someone could give me a breakdown of what I kill of skills, or I guess certifications now, that I should have before I spring for a battlecruiser?
Thanks

You can find what certificates are recommended for a ship by looking on the ship info.

So the certifications they have listed there are actually a pretty good bar? It's not like something the devs think, but the players all know better?

Decent guideline, better guideline = equipment you fly with.
Skills they need to 4 in some cases 5.
Upgrade to Tech 2 gear if you can fit it and afford it. -----------------------------------------------

Is there a website that let's you view the certificates for ships?
Won't be able to get in game while slacking around at work, but would like to check them out for a few ships.

Both Amarr BCs recommend: Armor Tanking Standard Core Compentency Standard Cruiser Turrets Standard
Go to http://eve.digitalmalice.com/certs make a evemon plan. Take out any skills you dont really see the need for (Ie. Core Compentency Standard requires Multitasking 1, no real reason to train targeting V as i guess you haven't played for long so you probably have a lot of other skills to work on :) ?? Profit

You could always look through the Loadouts on Battleclinic. A lot of folks are proud of their designs... and there might even be a few that don't require All Level V and a ship full of Officer Mods. --- Don't take my ranting personally. I may just be arguing the topic, unless you're saying something stupid, and then I mean every word. "Players don't want Variety. They want THE BEST" |
