you know when you're in space, and you drag your mouse over your weapons, it shows status, charges, overload status, all that stuff
it would be cool if it also shows optimal range and maybe falloff, so when you get optimal range disrupted for example you can see what your optimal range changed to without having to go to show info.
this'll make things faster and easier for pvp especially,

LOL. And brace yourself for complete fail of environment too with that option on.
But yes, you are completely right there.

yea like sunbird said, the tactical overview can be kinda annoying, and it doesn't give you a good number on what your opt is right?

it gives you another bubble around you depicting the optimal or maximum range for your guns. With missiles, it's max range. within the max targeting range of course.

yea exactly, but it doesn't state any numbers or something so let's use the same example, if you get optimal range disrupted, you might want to change the orbit range or keep at range range or whatever, it'll be cool if you had a number of your opt to do that. without having to go to show options of the gun

Absolutely. Tho, it's also something that most experienced players more or less already know. Their optimal range for guns, for blasters it's "stick it up their arse and unload"...for rails, it's "**** on his head from above and don;t let him get to your floor"...
But all in all, it would be fun, tho i doubt in rush you get in pvp you will be interested in checking each module's optimal range.

Personally, I'd like to see targeting range (as well as perhaps optimal and optimal+falloff when hovered over a module) shown on the overview, as a row when sorted by distance.
Makes it nice and easy to see when something is in range.

You already have that very graphically well done with the tactical overlay turned on. It updates if you are sensor dampened our tracking disrupted aswell. You should give it a sincere try. It works for guns, webs, disruptors, ECM, pretty much everything in game that needs a range to work.

I like red. heheh. Before you engage in pvp, you should be more than well familiar with your equipment. If you are not, you shouldn't pvp. SERIOUSLY.
As for adding this to overview stuff...Isn't overview bugged enough as it is?

This should be moved to the Features forum. And yes I do agree there should be additional display features for weapons. If 21st century fighter planes can have them (fighter HUDs display max range, optimal range, probability of hit, etc.), there's no reason why advanced civilization spaceships can't have them.

Because there is so much stuff around already. Ok, You can minimize chats for more space but that's not it... What are you going to do with modules that you keep near bottom and middle? Tactical overview sucks, tbh, and it needs complete overhaul. It might be practical for capital ships maybe, who's pilots got time to check everything, due to their ship's hitpoints and so on.
I do think minor readouts, like the ones u can set for shield/armor/hull in percentage, wouldn't be a bad idea.
I still believe you have done very little pvp if you think you would find this very practical.
