Edited by: Xavier Amadyus on 21/02/2009 08:25:02 Greetings all,
I need to pop some Guristas Pirates. My standing with the Caldari is very low, 4.66, and I need to bring it back up. I want to rat Guristas, but I don't know where some are close by. I need to stay in high sec. My home system is currently Algogille. So whats a close by high sec system I can go to? I've tried looking on line and I just can't find anywhere.

Any Caldari system has guristas rats in. Just open the universe map (F10), then set it to colour stars by sovereignty (caldari). Look for the bright dots on the map and go to one of those. You can show info to check the sec status too.
However, there is nothing wrong with low Calamari standings, nobody likes fish anyway.

Ratting for faction standing....

Instead......
Train diplomacy to 3. as soon as you can run missions with amarr( you need a faction standing better than -1.99 to run missions). Grind the hell out of lvl 1-2 missions for amarr. If you can fly a t2 frig those work really well for level 1 and 2 missions. if not a cruiser will work for most. The idea here is speed. Blitz all missions, you need 16 missions to get a storyline agent you will need a couple story lines with amarr at least to get above -1.99 with caldari.
Once you get above -1.99 run caldari missions the same way. Blitz a bunch of level 1s and 2s.
Belt ratting increases your sec status but to affect faction standings would take quite some time( since you have to get really bad standings with guristas to have much of a postive effect on your caldari standings).
You will have to run over 100 missions probably even if your diplo skills are 0 and you train to 3 and after 50 or so youll want to pull your hair out.
ADVICE: in the future either A) dont accept missions where you kill empire factions. or B) run a couple of caldari storylines when your standings start to get low again.
Personally i do the latter for gallente( im caldari) but some prefer not to have the headache of running missions in two different regions.

Killing rats only improves concord standnings, not local factions.

You'd have to be pretty suicidal to rat in Pure Blind. Venal is much better if you can find a back end system and can actually get there.

Wow so many people not even reading the OP's post... LOL. He's neither negative with Caldari (he said he's at 4.66, not -4.66), nor does he want to go to Venal or Pure Blind (he said he wants to stay in hisec).
To the OP: your best bet is to run missions with Caldari if you want to increase your standing with them. As others have said, ratting doesn't impact your faction standings, only your concord standings. 4.66 isn't all that low, so you should have access to a fair number of Caldari agents with that standing. Try looking in Caldari space (The Citadel comes to mind) for some good hisec agents. The missions forum can also help, as can eve-agents.com.

Not sure if you're looking for belt rats or mission rats, but Irjunen II Corporate Police Force Assembly Plant has a pretty good level 4 agent which will give you an awful lot of Guristas missions (not exclusively Guristas though). I believe that agent is CPF Internal Security or Surveillance division, so the missions are almost entirely combat. And you'll never see so many mission runner Ravens as there are constantly undocking from that station.
