Hi all.
I was wondering if someone could tell me, what is involved in setting up a POS in a 0.5 or 0.6 system?
I've been told by several different people several ways they think it can be done, but I figured I would ask on the forums so anyone that knows for a fact could let me know.
Thanks.

1) Get corp standings to the faction who have sovereignty up to the relevant level (5.0 for 0.5 space, 6.0 for 0.6, 7.0 for 7.0) by getting average corp standing to that level
2) Buy Tower and labs/whatever, anchor them, fuel them and put them online.
3) ???
4) Profit.

OR, quicker but more expensive way, buy a pre made corp that already has those standings, plenty of reputable sellers offer this from about 100m upwards depending on what system you want to be able to anchor in and how quick you want it. ------------- Lost Without a Clue |

Another way I was told, was to invite someone with those standings into the corp I've created, and they anchor a tower, then leave.
Would that work?

That would be a way to achieve point 1) Tranka Verrane posted above.

Of course, it'd have to be high enough to push the average standing of the corp to where you want it...at least, I believe that's the case. ----------------------------------- "What can go wrong, will go wrong." |

To repeat: Corp standings are the average of all the members. If you 'buy' a corp for standings come th next downtime the corps' standings will be yours, and you will have lost your advantage. This used to take around 7 days, but it doesn't anymore. So buy a corp if you want, but be aware you have 23 hours, maximum, to put up your tower.
99% of those people selling corps for their standings are scammers hoping to make some cash from newbs who don't know how things work.

It's the other way around - it used to be one DT and now it's 7 days. Only characters who've been in the corp for at least 7 days are counted when calculating the average.

remember the corp standings are an average of all members in the corp. Adding one person will not bring the standing up enough. The way we did it was to get one person with standing to start a corp (or to be the only one in the corp). Let them anchor the POS then change CEO to someone else and add players.

You will also want to note that your POS is not invincible in hisec. If you want to be able to weather a wardec you will want a large pos with adequate guns etc. <-------------------------------------------------> "Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former." -Albert Einstein |

Not quite correct as long as other members have no standings with the faction you trying to gain standings with -they can remain in corp -so best to create a ceo alt with no standings and keep control of corp that way- members with standings will have to leave corp for a week or so
