ok, IŠve made a copy of my CCP folder in order to try out SiSi. IŠve downloaded the evepremiumpatch75883-82565_test which I got when clicked on the "Download TQ to singularity patch". I ran the file and selected the copied version of Eve. When I click install, I get the message, "Eve-online updater has stopped working".
Any ideas of what IŠm doing wrong?

I've not heard of that error message before. Please file a bugreport, including a dxdiag of your system, and I'll get it looked into.

The Message is Vista crap, just informing you that the app is currently not responding. ----------------------------------------------

I have the same issue.
I have vista ultimate.
When I try to patch from 75833 to SiSi and I select my folder it starts patching but then immediatly after it , I get a message saying that the patch isn't working anymore with the only option I get being 'close'.
And I want to see the t3 stuff ><

I have Windows vista Home premium.
The full error message in english is as follows;
"Eve updater has stopped working. Windows is checking for a solution to your problem"
Then another window pops up saying: "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
Sound familiar?
I can submit a report but you gotta tell me what a dxdiag something means?

i can never stress this enough when talking about doing ANYTHING on vista...
ALWAYS RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR!!
if it still isn't working run in compatibility mode for windows XP SP2
That message is very common on vista machines unless your doing this is administrator. its to do with the stupidly tight security settings on vista and when your trying to install things, unless your running as administrator, the installer will try and access parts of the computer Vista's OS deems as inaccessible unless your an administrator, hence causing the installer/programme or whatever to stop working as their more often than not, not designed to hit brick metaphorical walls.
failing that. i couldn't help you but this most likely is the issue.

I don't run as administrator by default. Some apps I have the Run as administrator checkbox selected on the applications shortcut, but not Eve. I also have UAC turned on. (And I haven't set anything to XP SP2 compatibility)
(Your mileage may vary.)

A possible work around is to download both the downloader and the RTP file it retrieves. ie, get these two files. Put them both in the same folder, then run the exe. exe rtp

I'm afraid that doesn't work. (atleast not here.)

I have the two files downloaded in a separate copy directory of EVE. When I run the exe it is starting to download the patch. It tries to download it to the damned my documents. I have no space there - thats why I downloaded the patch separately. Also it should not try to download it again... :/ Windows XP by the way.

Ok, I downloaded those two files and moved them into my copied EVE folder for the SiSi client. I ran the exe file but it didnŠt work. Think the same error message poped up. But then I ran the previous file I had downloaded - the one I got when I clicked on "Download TQ to singularity patch" and then things worked.
DonŠt ask me how this works! A complete noob when it comes to computers - just glad it works.

I got this to work by typing in the destination path instead of clicking "browse" to select the folder I wanted to install to.

I KNOW THE FEELING.....
I spent 3 days downloading so many times thinking it was a corrupt download, finally had a brainwave and Booted up an old PC with XP on it. HALLALUYA first attempt the patch worked, so copied to my Vista Ultimate 64 Machine and now Playing in SiSi.....
Note the XP machine cant actually run the game, (GFX can doesnt have the proper support) just used for patching. Also note, i tried it on a Server 2003 Machine too with no luck. Must be something with Vista & Server 2003 that is stopping the Patcher.
