This is what happens when you are taking your loot to market and forget to fit em. Call me a carebear, call me a whiner, but when I have a 60j round trip in high sec, I am not going to warp to zero, this kind of stuff is a game breaker for me. Might as well just get rid of autopilot again, system is useless. Most likely this happened on arrival, but w/e.

No, no. I think autopilot is working fine.
In all fairness, a LSE probably wouldn't have saved you.

I think you are correct, and with that in mind I feel that I shouldn't have to pay attention to the overview/cargo scanner for 2 hours when looking for someone to gank, there should be 1 button to press labelled "play game for me" and I should be able to do my laundry while the game automatically looks for your nice juicy cargo...

Lol, Meh, I am getting a laugh out of it now, wrong ship for the job, inds thinking about them are a basic lvl ship for hauling from mining sites after all ^.^ Meh, I will get some buddies together, have that money earned back in a weekend. Had fallen asleep was all so wake up to tha is kinda a grr. Guess if I want to haul my own stuff, better train up for a blockade runner transport. Think I might throw out a courier contract though for the over 90% of what I got to haul. Kept my pod so live and learn!

how come this guy wasn't popped by concord for attacking you in jita? is it because you didn't survive long enough for them to show up or something? what is the "rule" for concord involvement - i've always been iffy on this...

There actually is a rule about it, but concord pops you after you fire. He fired with a group of smartbombs and managed to instakill me, he got popped too. This is where it is busted though, his ship being insured means he is out maybe 10 mil, while I am out alot more. On the flip side, you can only do it once, the guy has no highsec access. So they spend money and time to speed train a battleship kamikaze, then lose most use out of it. I will get together with some friends though and be able to make that money back this weekend easily. Ironic part, that is only a portion, I was going to just put up a courier order of 100m payment to get it all shipped high sec to market. :p Dynamic eve, best to not cheap out XD

I dunno, losing a ship high sec while afk isn't exactly sucking, I would think that trying to make money by sitting around for hours looking for the easist thing to kill, that is sucking.

Seeing as you were in Jita, it would take maybe 10-15 minutes to check all the gates from autopiloting ships who arrived at destination and were sittng AFK on the gate.

Yeah, I had them, just forgot to put them on. I was away for a bit, I usually do my hauling when I got other stuff to do. Just so happens though this time I didn't have passive def and fell asleep while afk. What he got though is equal to a couple hours of work, so while it was a loss, I will have it made back this weekend.

When autopiloting a bunch of stuff in Empire I would just fit a BS with expanders, a DCU II and fill up the mids with LSE II's and maybe a resist amp for the resist hole and let er fly. Never had any trouble.

Wait, what? They can continue to do it however much they want, either take the time to get their sec status back up, or tank faction police spawns while they get into position. Trust me, as a flashy red pilot, I can assure you that even hisec isn't safe from -5.0 and lower pilots.
And why would they lose most use out of the pilot? Move to lowsec and trivial things like sec status doesn't matter anymore.
Fake Edit: Next time, bring your ship through Rancer on AP when it's full of goodies (didn't actually look at the KM, but I'm guessing it was decent loot if it lost you 150m).

I worked for hours putting that together, you were a poor target too, but after a few hours of nothing, you take what you get.
There are a myriad of things you can do to avoid this - actually playing the game is a good start. An LSE wouldn't have saved you, EM resistance wouldn't have saved you, a transport ship wouldn't (always) save you.
>>He fired with a group of smartbombs and managed to instakill me
With fast finger work, I got off almost 3 cycles I believe. And you can't group smartbombs.
>>On the flip side, you can only do it once, the guy has no highsec access. So they spend money and time to speed train a battleship kamikaze, then lose most use out of it...
Guess again Captain AFK, you can click on my face at battleclinic and see this was not my first time.
>>Would have survived if you had tanked your hauler =/
There is no tech1 hauler than I can't kill - and only a few tech2s that are difficult. My god people, this has been done with FREIGHTERS before, what makes you think you can tank it?
>>Also forgot about secure containers too... DOH!
Lock the containers before putting them in your hold? Does nothing.
>>I would think that trying to make money by sitting around for hours looking for the easist thing to kill, that is sucking.
I have worked very hard to do what I do - this wasn't a random event, you were selected, managed, destroyed and harvested. You selecting Jita as a destination and clicking autopilot is far more noble than my childish games though, no doubt.
Additionally, I will happily tell anyone how to avoid being a victim, there are numerous, simple things you can do that won't change your game experience one little bit, and this will (probably) never happen to you again. I am also accepting applicants to join me in this highly lucrative and exceedingly fun sport.

Nice solution, but ditch the DCU - it is an active mod, which defeats the purpose - another plate or another resist would be better.
Still, never think that is invincible...

I have been suicide ganked before (fortunately just a loss of a few mil) and looked into the topic a bit. The principle is, that the ganker needs to have you destroyed in 2-3 volleys. If you want to make sure you can survive a single suicide ganker, you might want to look at deep space transports ( you can get a bustard up to 60k EHP, slow as f*** though) or a freighter (comes out of the box with >150k). There is no way a single ship can spew out that kind of damage. If someone wants to bring you down, with enough ships it is doable (heard freighters need 20-30 BS c/d ?).
A final note: If you really have something valuable (as in you cannot afford to loose...), do not afk.

Meh, the DCU (or Inv2) was for when I heard someone whaling on me as it's no trouble to walk back (or maximize) and click it on. Invinceable? No, of course not. But a Rattlesnake with a bunch of extenders is idiotically hard to kill quickly and I wouldnt afk with anything over maybe 200mil, for that I would use my Crane and wt0.
