Doesnt matter at all, even if you manage to escape concord it'll still cost you the ship, so are the rules.

While you're argument on why it should and shouldn't work is actually very valid, the result of changing it would be very bad.
Then again, I support the ability of a criminal to escape Concord, as long as more realistic and time-consuming penalties are put into place to impair those criminals and their ability to function in society.
Permanent records, wanted listings, and 'imprisonment' for a period of time are all great concepts. As others here have said, though, it's a features and ideas thing.

I think it is a brilliant idea, if, in the case that this happens, CONCORD will close the wormhole after you. ---------------- Mr. Science & Trade Institute

Or, better yet, CONCORD follows you through wormhole and kills you as per normal.

or even better, Concord send a drone though after you with a big fat DD, they close the wormhole, drone chases you and then wham, bam, thank you maam! any one else caught in the blast is just collateral! |

Originally by: downies If you get concord aggro in hisec and manage to warp to a wormhole in time (before the wtfbbqpwnfleet arrives) you SHOULD be allowed to jump through it, it makes sense, IE wormholes cant deny you access, theyre natural phenomena which dont care about aggro timers. So avoiding concord using this mechanic should be possible.
Agreed

Wow, was really expecting more "FFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUU" and "GB2 EvE noob" but im pleasantly surprised.
Concord, with their recent uberboost should have SOME downsides, to give people an incentive to be careful whereever they are. They will still be quick, you will still lose alot of isk if caught and you will be exiled from empire if you choose to do this. Until you make ammends, so it is FAR from an easy way to gank people and would require alot of pre-planning. I would help with the macrominer problems too.

I like the idea of you being stuck in wormhole space with no way out.
also they should spawn sleepers right on the other side of the wormhole for you to fight.

Edited by: Cyberus on 04/03/2009 18:43:52 I remember the time when i have killed ore thief (NPC corp) in high sec by my raven and took off Concord because i played smart.
Though in this time and changes on Concord is completely mad.
Can we have Concord scramblers CCP? PLZ?
I miss that time tbh. ===== * Your signature file is broken. Please use one that will display - Fallout |

or dont gank in highsec and try to get around getting ganked by gateguns and guards with going through WHs?
anyways... i thought you pirates would be more concerned with taking a random WH into highsec and being stuck rather than get ganked by the police with your -10 ratings.

WHs say what sec of space they lead to
And hisec gank should be permitted, its a stupid mechanic saying "you are allowed to kill people but we kill your ship naos" kind of ruins the sandbox aspect that CCP are so fond of throwing around.

Nothing to discuss though. You do something bad concord kills you and "stupid" is hardly a convincing argument in any form while that sandbox you can't quite find is 0.0 which actually makes up the bluck of the game world. In fact once wormholes are in empire space is not going to make up much of eve at all. ***The EVE servers and their patches*** |

What is actually the your base idea?
1) Do you wish to argue that Concord should not be able to kill all attack ships?
Or,
2) Do you just wish maintain 'suspension of disbelief' in regards to worm holes?
If its for easier ganks, should leave worm holes out since that will just confuse the discussion. If its just about backstory, try focus on improvements that are easy to implement (i.e simple), and do not change the balance.

This starts to sound like RL's "think of children". Sure it would be good to give a government right to imprison and kill anyone who they know for sure to be a pedobear. That of course won't happen since everyone knows it would get misused almost instantly against other victims..

Edited by: Tsabrock on 05/03/2009 04:24:54 From a game-immersion standpoint, I do like the idea and concept. However, with the current Crime and Justice system, I would see such a mechanic exploited frequently to gank people in highsec and to entirely escape CONCORD.
When the Justice system gets reworked, we could possibly see this happen.
Which reminds me, I really gotta go through my notes and post the ideas I've had to rework the whole Justice system. --- AMD 64 4400+ X2 (Dual-Core) 4GB Corsair XMS Memory (2336) ASUS A8N-SLI Premium (1.09 Bios) GeForce 7800GTX 256 Megs; eVGA brand Windows XP Pro and Vista Ultimate 64-bit (Dual-Boot) |

well maybe you should just be happy they dont gank you INSTANTLY when you hop into a newly fitted and insured ship at a SS that your friend just delivered to you. or be happy they dont pod you either...
this is a sandbox, SOME areas have cops, some dont. if you dont want to live in the city where there are cops and people going about their daily lives not even carrying weapons, move to the wild west already.

If this gets put in then I would also argue for black ops to once again have the ability to gank somebody and then cyno out before concord arrives.
I mean cmon guys, thats awesome. I wouldn't even call it broken or overpowered since you're paying a billion isk for the ability to have an underpowered suicide bs that may have the ability to get away if it kills the enemy and jumps quickly enough... but if you screw up at all you're out a very expensive ship.

Getting killed by concord invalidates insurance
If your going to bring the whole "RL sandbox police in city" thing into it, remember, if you get away from the scene of a crime quick enough and into a country without extradition treaties, you CAN get away with murder.

i do agree with this guy, if ccp are trying to make this as RP as possible (which, their not really are they? lol), then it should be possible to naviagte into a wormhole no matter what your current situation is...
