A while back Zulupark ran that fantastic Q and A thing on voice and the forums. It was inspired.
So, any news on whether any of the things that were to be re-examined are going to be changed?
-Blackops -Stealthbombers -Large Artillery -Blasters
etc...
a great deal was discussed, with the upshot that many things 'would get looked at'.
So, what did the balancers see and decide?
What if any changes will make it into Apocrphphpa?

Ok, so here's where things stand:
Currently over the past months the devs have been busy working on Apocrypha and so far there hasn't been a lot of revisiting old systems or rebalancing. However those things (especially local in 0.0 and black-ops) are very high on the priority list post-release.
So things are happening, just not as fast as everyone would have wanted. It's hard to balance the development of new features against iterating on old ones. We most definitely want to take some time after release and examine a lot of gameplay and re-evaluate it.
Hope that answers your questions.

It means that when we implement this, it will not be just for black ops. Allowing all jump-capable ships to pull their fuel from an actual 'fuel bay / gas tank' is much better than just dumping everything into one cargo hold.

so instead of just black ops it will be for all jump based ships which is a good idea.

well this is the case always ... means only critical fixes to existing features are ever implemented (such as fixing exploits). if CCP can't sell it as a new feature, they usualy do not bother working on it ... --- SIG --- CSM: your support is needed ! |

Biggest one imo, along with making 0.0 and Lowsec Much more profitable for the individual to re-dress the problem of highsec producing stupid amounts of ISK; looking at you lvl 4's!
Tbh, i don't think improving the rats in lowsec is going to cut the mustard unless its made into some sort of ratting Mecca.

tbh, Level fours are only really more profitable than a crappy 0.0 system if the person in 0.0 is doing things inefficiently or the person doing the level 4's have spent billions on their ship and fitting. ______________________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008

one thing i hope they keep is
low sec up to 1.1m spawns npc 00 regions spawns bumped from 950k up to 1.25m ( syndiucate providence etc) the existing 1.25m regions boosted to 1.55 1.55 up to 1.75m 2.1m stay the same
A few points this brings it into line with mining and better hauler drops t3 basically players who can rat and come up with isk quicker can purchase ships more easily reducing the grind especially with more players coming into game, they will take less time to get ships going and therefore u will see more pvp
Probably a good thing to with the expected increase in losses chasing sleeper spawn it all fix ins

I don't understand... the Falcon is awesome, and so is the SB.
Are you expecting them to be solo ships or something?

I think Vitrael is politely calling for a falcon nerf, actually. As for the SB, its awesomeness (although manifest) was substantially reduced by the missile rebalancing; it can no longer deliver a substantial alpha strike to most small targets, which was its original design role. At the time of the missile rebalance, the devs said they had a plan to give it a new role (unspecified), possibly involving the use of a still-yet-larger class of launchers.
I still love my stealth bomber, but I'd like for it to have a unique role again, and it's my understanding that (at one point, probably long forgotten) the devs planned to give it one.
(And yes, I'm aware of its value in a DPS role in a wolfpack, I'm not saying the ship is broken or anything. It's just that the rebalancing for it has been -- supposedly -- in the pipeline for quite a bit longer than the recent notions that something should be done about the falcon.) ------------------ Ironfleet.com |

For Artillery - since you mentioned it:
For all 'Howitzer' artillery (280, 720, 1400) - 15% ROF + 20% Base Damage + 10% Clip Size (spacifically Lrg. Artillery) Unknowns: tracking increace would be nice - but Artillery should be peanalized in terms of tracking because 'when' it hits, it hurts. Base Optimal increace would also be nice - but a spacific number is hard to get to).
Logic:
Minmatar are not the high dps race, we don't track well and we use old-fashioned technology - but - we are devistating. Our Jags, Munins, Tempests don't need a dps buff, they just need more alpha - becasue we have the lowest optimal, the worst tracking, the worst lockrange, BUT we get the most alpha. . .
anyway - there are a few other things, but since it was brought up. -----------

Bingo! Zulu answered the Falcon question a dozen times but he seems to think its fine. So I prod on...
What is "fine" about a ship that essentially "turn off" six other ships, operates at 200km or beyond and has a covops cloak? What's "fine" about the fact that the favorite counter to Falcons is more Falcons? Its very presence discourages PVP. Nobody likes being jammed, everyone wants more Falcons in their fleet. ECCM is worthless, especially on ships that had low sensor strengths to begin with, and even battleships fielding double ECCM can get jammed sometimes.
Blagh! Better end this Falcon rant before it gets long winded.
I also agree with the guy above me, Artilleries need bigger ammo caches. Having ten rounds of EMP or Tremor in your 1400mm is pretty lame.

there's this bug report i handed in >1 month ago about arties forgetting their ammo-range-bonus on the final round of each clip - basically reducing dps another 10% (also see: clip size debate -.-) any chance that's gonna get fixed? - putting the gist back into logistics |
