Well, been probing earlier, so I noticed that probes for comb/sift, etc. and the likes are gone. So I asked around what I need to look for plexes and wormholes, was told Core probe and probe launcher, so I got those.
So I experiemented on them, and notice I can change the radius size on the core probes. Does the radius size determine the probe strength? I've been trying to move the probes to "pinpoint" this particular plex with 3 probes, 8 au, 2, and 1 but then always shows up empty, am I doing something wrong?
I am looking for the guide, can someone link me specifically to the guide? -----------------------------------

Someone scrolled 3/4 of the way down the page, and failed to notice the STICKEY posts that are meant to draw attention. Mainly the one with SCANNING in big bold print?
Or maybe someone should read the first few pages of posts, rather than repost an idea because you're too lazy to check and see if it's already been answered?
Just a couple ideas... --- Don't take my ranting personally. I may just be arguing the topic, unless you're saying something stupid, and then I mean every word. "Players don't want Variety. They want THE BEST" |

If its this, I saw it, but it only tells you what's up, not show you how. So please, gtfo if you're not gonna properly help out. I'm asking for a direct guide. I do want to help out testing sisi. -----------------------------------

This one helped me a lot to develop my own way of probing things to explain it to anyone after patchday.
Keep in mind the following: -sites *seem* to always appear 4au within a celestial body -scanning with one probe wil reveal a spherical body around the center of your probe, within a cretain deviation the result lies on the spheres hull -two propes being able to scan the same anomaly within their "overlapping union's" scan strength will result in a circle representation of the result (all subject to deviation and two probes finding the result but "not really in their overlapping union" will result in two sperical scan results due to deviation) -three probes "overlapping" the result will create two points on the aforementiond circle, one good, one mirrored -four probes can pinpoint it exactly, using too large scan radius obviously degenerates the accuracy, the idea is to already move the 1st probe as close as possible to the resulting anomaly; watching the signal strength of your result is a good indicator if your sphere is closer or further form it in regards to the last scan.
Hope it helps ...

I won't judge you... but I would recommend that you use the shiny EVE Wiki

Short answer: yes, the lower range settings have higher scan strength.

I found a wormhole 5au from a celestial object. The old 4au rule of thumb is now moot

Don't be upset, your core probes has 32au radius... and Deep Space Probes can cover as much as whole system with VERY good margin. -- Thanks CCP for cu |

Edited by: NeoShocker on 07/03/2009 05:07:09 Ah, thank you guys. Much appreciated unlike useless Marcus Gideon. :)
And yeah, I was probing with one large radius sphere, then with smaller sphere probes to "pin point" it, but always showing no results, I thought I was doing it wrong or something.
BTW, ISD Libertina, you need to fix the link, it shows the link on you're replying on a thread. -----------------------------------
