I am guessing the best thing to do is follow Tripoli's skill guide and get all my learning and attributes as high as possible. I am doing the lowly missions I can atm and saving all my ISK. I have bought all the basic/advanced skill books already for my new char I will make on M10. My question is this. I want to maximize my training as much as I can and this requires the +3 implants. What in God's name are they called. I looked in market and there are too many to count each with +3 to a attribute and 1% of shield/armor/speed etc. Which ones are the basic just +3 ones and what are their names?
Any help you can give is very much appreciated as I am still in reality doing the tutorial as much as I can to learn things. Thanks guys.

First answer yourself these questions?
1. Are you here for a long haul? 2. Have you played any other MMORPG consistently for 1-2 years? 3. Do you like PVP? either combat or market?
If the answer to all these questions is yes, create a new account and increase your training speed by 100%. This is the single most important decision in Eve you can do at this stage you are right now

My advice is as follows:
Spend the next 3-4 days enjoying life. Visit museums, go to the movies, take a stroll on the beach etc., because once you get started on this infernal game you won't get out much
On M10 Eve gets a completely new tutorial and attribute/skill selection system for incoming players so I bet a lot of the books you have bought will be given in the starting phase (staring skills are cheap though, so no big loss). I have been messing around in the tutorial on the test server and it actually looks like fun .. wish it had been that way when I started, but still here so not all bad.
Just be aware that a lot of things will change when it comes to starting characters on M10, so don't make elaborate plans until everything is finalized (won't be until actual patch, so Hah! )
God-like application to help with skill planning: EveMON - Don't leave home without it, or you leave your sanity!
Can be used to look up all the implants and skill requirements for them. Best application available for Eve addicts bar none.

1. I believe so. From what I have seen during my limited play I like it.
2. 97-2002 I played UO, 2002-2004 DAoC, and 2004- present I played WoW.
3. I dont mind pvp however it really isnt on my top list of things which really excite me. However, after reading Haladas guide to mining I dont know how much fun I would have staring at my mining lasers cycle either. I think what I would like the most is possibly faction warfare or possibly even ratting for ISK. Pirating has some appeal as well I just dont like the idea of never being allowed to enter empire space again.
The thing which seems the most appealing to me about Eve is the fact it doesnt have the non stop weekly grind of killing the same things over and over and over. I do understand there is a grind in Eve but at least its not a static "execute strat A vs this" blah blah. Ive killed all the things I want to kill in WoW and am bored out of my mind. The skill grind seems foreign to me still, but the more I read, the more I see the concept behind it. I am the type of person who reads, and reads, and then reads some more before pursuing what I like so in that sense Eve is occupying my time well. I just hate having to learn all the new acronyms for a new game lol. Some of these boards might as well be in Chinese to me.
I would love to use Evemon but I play on a Mac and I have tried in every way to DL GTKEvemon for macs but cant get it to work...im not very computer savvy.

All forms of carebearing in this game can be awfully boring and if you hope to play this game for extended period of time pvp is your only option to substain your interest. So if you will keep playing this a year or two from now I can bet it will be one form of pvp activity or the other. So pvp is actually your only option and considering that EVE is all about team PVP and solo pvp here is considered a form of travesty you will get immense advantage and flexibility from having multiple accounts.
There is this funny useless ship type at the moment in eve which is called Black Ops and you basically need two more characters in order to use all its functions. One blockade runner to carry enough jump fuel and a reckon ship to light up cynosural field at destination point. Well you get the picutre. Hope they will fix it.

You seem to be taking a sensible & methodical approach.
Contrary to what some may advise you, you can start meaningful PvP within a couple of weeks. Right out in 0.0.
You will need the following skills:
(racial frigate) to level 4 propulsion jamming to 1+ high speed maneuvering to 1+
There are very many more that you will find useful[/i] for PvP, but the above are what you truly need.
I would in all seriousness recommend that you get out of hi-sec as soon as you have the above skills and the learning skills. Say about 2 weeks in hi-sec to learn the interface, make a few ISK and get some skills in.
As a "noob", you will die hilariously and often. That's fine - do it now while it's cheap and doesn't matter. If you're willing to tackle - stop hostile ships warping or moving with a warp disruptor and webber, most player corps will give you T1 frigates to replace your losses.
Your main problem will be income - killing 0.0 spawns in a frigate is tough. However, you can make a very good income salvaging wrecks (both player wrecks and rat wrecks). Most ratters don't bother, because t's not worth their time. So follow someone who rats like this and clean up their wrecks - you'll easily be making 4-5M/hr - or even more depending on the rat type (that's enough to fit 3-4 tackling frigates per hour).
Seriously: learn to PvP early. Even if you don't want to be a full-on PvPer, the knowledge of how stuff really works will be invaluable whatever your profession.

^^This too. I would even go as far as to propose to buy one GTC and sell it for isk to cover all your needs for a long time and just enjoy pvp community. It is a great game and if you are already willing to pay for it in order to play it, it is absolutely worth it to pay a bit more in order to play it HOW you want it and not waste your time on salvaging wrecks, mining, missioning and other nonsense
