this is the 3d version that you need with the 3d glasses..
Linkage
this is the 3d tube i am eyeballing as a pick as well. you need 3d glasses with this tek to work. now i know eve dont soported this but if it did it would be too boss.. i dont think it will and to bad. this new tek is based on the fact i think that you have to sopport like 120mhz so if i got a samsumg lcd that is like 46" at 20000 to 1 and sopports already that mhz will i only need the glasses to work this tek.. is that all you need to work the 3d glasses?

Edited by: Kifor Hellhund on 07/03/2009 22:47:04 Well it's nice to know that there are no items in my shopping cart, but at any rate I'm waiting for big OLED's (30"+) to hit the market. So 2-3 years before I drop a grand+ on a monitor. Till then I'm gonna be happy with my cheapo lcd.
What I think is you're about to waste almost $1000 on a gimmick. Go for it if you got a lot of cash laying around.

This is correct. Btw, the 20000:1 contrast is a gimmick that can badly degrade the image.
Also, the link to your shopping cart doesn't work, you need to link to the items themselves. ___________________________________ Always enjoy your virtual synthetic psychotropics in moderation. |

Samsung make some nice stuff, i just to work for them in the tech support. based in edinburgh so be warned when you phone you'll get a scot that you can't understand. at lest the company updated the ivr phone system lol use to get put to an agent who would then transfer you to the right person now that was a hard job. 01101111 01100110 01100110 01100010 01100101 01100001 01110100 00100000 01100011 01110010 01100101 01100001 01110100 01101001 01101111 01101110 |

Unless someone has the info to prove otherwise I really don't see th point in paying for a Core i7 920 (expensive), X58 mobo (expensive) and DDR3 RAM (Expensive and you need three sticks!)
if I'm reading the reviews right then in many cases the AMD Phenom 940 BE is pretty close to the i7 and is hella cheaper (motherboards for less than ú100, can re-use your existing, cheaper dual-channel DDR2 and if you're already an AMD user, can keep your AM2+ mobo). ===================================== It smells of spoon! ===================================== |

I think those 3d tv's / glasses are one of those thing wich will get you headaches and will get ennoying after a while. The t260 is really nice tough. You might also wanna try the hp 2448HC.
HP W2448HC 24' WIDESCREEN MONITOR 24 inches monitor,24 inches Viewable area,1920x1200 maximum resolution,3000:1 Contrast range
Not the fake 20000:1 like the samsung but well, ive seen em next to eachother (i work at a computer store on saturdays ) and the 2448 looks alot better.

the new nVidia glasses are supposed to be a lot less headache-inducing because they use higher frequencies (hence needing a monitor with a vertical refresh of 120Hz which means each eye gets 60Hz, the current standard for most TFT's)
I wants, but I'll have to wait til I can afford. ===================================== It smells of spoon! ===================================== |

yea, he dosnt under stand how the new cpu works with the tri ram or the x58 chipset so here is the just.. i am not going with that monitor but buying my room mates 46" 3ms samsug that can do 244mhz.
3d on that!!! oh so you know i use win7 now as a main os.. **** yea to that to.. wtf is vista?
**** yea! **** yea! its gonna happed this fin game is ****en my world!
look i like amd and wish they could of keeped up but they cant sorry!
this is to help you understand some on what this cpu is about..
Intel Core i7 920 Processor BX80601920 You have to see the most significant architectural change in the x86 personal computer processor architecture in 13 years, the Intel Core i7. Intel's engineers have completely reinvented their CPU design, removing the antiquated Front Side Bus and replacing it with the new Intel QuickPath Interconnect, delivering up to 6.4 GT/s. Also new to the Core i7 line is the integrated memory controller, supporting Triple Channel DDR3 Memory allowing for more maximum memory capacity and performance, up to 24GB on some boards, and faster access times. Located directly on the CPU semiconductor die is 256KB per core of L2 cache and 8MB L3 cache shared across all four cores means the CPU can do more without having to access the main memory, further increasing performance.
The Intel Core i7 processor is the latest in cutting edge processor technology for the desktop PC. Based on the new Intel Nehalem microarchitecture, the Intel Core i7 processor delivers four complete execution cores within a single processor along with the rebirth of Intel HyperThreading Technology, delivering unprecedented performance and responsiveness in multi-threaded and multi-tasking business and home use environments and the ability to simultaneously process up to 8 seperate threads.
The unprecedented performance of the Intel Core i7 processor is made possible by each of the four complete execution cores delivering the full power of Intel Nehalem microarchitecture. More instructions can be carried out per clock cycle, shorter and wider pipelines execute commands more quickly, and improved bus lanes move data throughout the system faster. This quad-core, eight-thread processor represents IntelÆs continued leadership and drive of multi-core processing and more parallel computing.

Meh...I'll stick with my 19" that I spent $200 on....
2ms response time...why do more expensive models have 5ms? Also, 120Hz is useless because you can only see 60Hz (same frequency as visible light). LCDs run on this, but old CRTs should be around 75Hz to reduce flicker. (screen refreshing at the same time light does causes eye strain) ----------------------------------- "What can go wrong, will go wrong." |

it dose matter as the faster your tube can refresh the better your fram rates, if you ever played quake or any first person shoter you would know what i mean.. speed is boss! flat out.. gamming qulity is 85mhz and higher so you know right.. pluss trust me the look of a game at 120mhz vs 60mhz you wont wont to go back.

Contrast Ratio: Dynamic contrast ratio
A notable recent development in the LCD technology is the so-called "dynamic contrast" (DC). When there is a need to display a dark image, the display would underpower the backlight lamp (or decrease the aperture of the projector's lens using an iris), but will proportionately amplify the transmission through the LCD panel. This gives the benefit of realizing the potential static contrast ratio of the LCD panel in dark scenes when the image is watched in a dark room. The drawback is that if a dark scene does contain small areas of superbright light, image quality may be over exposed.
The trick for the display is to determine how much of the highlights may be unnoticeably blown out in a given image under the given ambient lighting conditions.
Brightness, as it is most often used in marketing literature, refers to the emitted luminous intensity on screen measured in candela per square metre (cd/m2). The higher the number, the brighter the screen.
It is also common to market only the dynamic contrast ratio capability of a display (when it is better than its static contrast ratio), which should not be directly compared to the static contrast ratio. A plasma display with a static 5000:1 contrast ratio will show superior contrast to an LCD with 5000:1 dynamic and 1000:1 static contrast ratio when the input signal contains a full range of brightnesses from 0 to 100% simultaneously. They will, however, be on-par when input signal ranges only from 0 to 20% brightness. ___________________________________ Always enjoy your virtual synthetic psychotropics in moderation. |
