because i keep hearing: "blah-blah now my 110m isk BS gets wtfpwned by a 200k frigate yakety-yak"
now, my natural inclination is to adopt the position that this is bollox, but please feel free to convince me otherwise, by posting your tales of exploding ravens and lone velator gankers below...
i thank you

Oh, I know some people have succesfully killed lone BS in a 5-8 person frig squad (sometimes with support from a cruiser doing most of the damage). It's a very real possibility, but it always was. The difference being that jamming the BS isn't that much of a neccesity anymore since they don't hit you anyway.
The hard part is getting past the tankage I assume, but with a few inty's doing bonussed damage that can be overcome.
I personally haven't lost any BS to frigs to date.

yea they exagerate or are really begining pvp players.
Imho danger starts from 5-6 inties, and its not even really dangerous.
I have bumped a few times into a tundragon fleet of 4-6 frigs + one thorax , frigs with dampeners wich could and did take battleship.
Stars, stars like dust, all around me.... |

I've killed a scorp solo in a crow, another guy in my alliance has killed a mega solo in a taranis in Venal (0.0)
Both the guys we killed were noobish beyond belief, the mega was rigged with a 100% mining rig, no missile launcher no combat drones, the scorp had no tanking and no ew he stayed in place even when he wasnt scrambled and never launched drones.
Mostly harmless |

To add something else that can explain it.
People flying BS in travel mode oftenly choose to fit 2 MWD and say 3 cap rechargers. Their lows will most oftenly be filled with WCS and maybe some cap relays.
I know this is not a correct travel setup, but It seems some people haven't realised that yet.
Get scrambled in that and you are effectively dead even against 3 frigs.

i repeat: ALL noobish battleship pilots deserve to get podded. a person should -only- put their ass in a battleship if they already know how to pilot a cruiser very well, AND have a -clue- on battleship defense/offense tactics and setups, kthx. ------------------- :: finite horizon :: killboard ::

You forget that battleships are the ultimate mining ships...
Untill that changes you will keep seeing nubs in battleships and thats just the plain old truth. It doesn't make any sence that battleships should be the best miners but for some reason, thats the way it is...
Originally by: cashman It's time for Eris to get a clue. CCP should make a statement about this.
It's the exact same things as what Zombie did, you may not attack in "safe-areas" (empire/within sentry range) without loosing your ship.

3 frigs find you at a gate, they all scramble you with a -2 str scrambler. You are unlikely to be able to move in that case (and if you do lets just assume 4 frigs=-8). Dual MWD on anything but a souped up minnie BS isnt going to outrun a MWD'd frig anyway, and one web will make sure it doesn't fin any case.
Now, since you have no shield or armor regeneration stuff on the frigs can eat away your ship bit by bit.
Some things required to not be trapped this easily: nosferatus in high and/or 3 MWD's and/or webber to go with your guns and at least one medium armor repairer.
It's pretty obvious but some people acutally don't realise that.

frigates are fulfilling more of a job as megafast ship then "carrier shootaway" scrap. allthough ive killed many cruisers in my time as interceptor pilot (never a bs without support), and though i still love it, i favor my bs for all tasks but scouting herassing and single player attacks. frigate tactics vary a lot from bss becouse they're more speed-based, bss are more theoretic, therefor in a way require mainly insight and other peoples tips... training in a frigate isnt a very good training in preparation for a bs ;), a cruiser should be a better choise --- "this song reminds me of the girl i met on a schooltrip, she was really nice, and she really liked me. I forgot to ask her her phone number" - Nelix trist OMG im a pretzel!!! |

Heard about this Raven being taken out on patchday by a lone interceptor, apparently his torpedos did 20 damage a hit, in space only mommy can hear you cry.
