Most disturbing, Mr.Shakor does not exactly have a history of altruistic actions. My prayers go out to the noble Thukker's, for I fear they may have opened the hen house and let the fox in.
Originally by: Elsebeth Rhiannon The Republic is not barging into my business either, and I am Sebiestor. The Republic is a union of four, no, five , tribes, and exist as a defense and foreign politics union and to settle inter-tribal issues. Clans and tribes remain independent in their internal matters. <snip>
Ah yes, that must be why Mr.Shakor has all but disbanded the Parliament, allowing only the voting required by the regulations .. and even with his majority well in hand, he still feels the need to have his cronies suppress disenters. To me it looks suspiciously like Mr.Shakor is intent on re-creating the Republic in his vision - a Brutor Oligarchy - regardless of the peoples wishes for freedom and democracy.
Mr.Shakor is under pressure from the effects of the Empress' magnanimous emancipation of parts of the slave population. One can only place so many of ones own people in internment camps, sorry he calls them "transit camps", before people rise up in protest.
With the attempted conquest of the Amarrian held Bleak Lands at a stand still and the Matari worlds unable to support the people's cries for land to live on, I am sure it is just a matter of time before Mr.Shakor asks/demands the proud Thukker to allow the Republic to send refugees into the Great Wildlands.
I wonder how much of his "plan for the future of the Minmatar people" he will actually reveal at the upcoming Assembly. I hope for the future of the Minmatar he suffers a slip of the tongue that he may be exposed as the traitor to his people he so clearly is.
I shall ask my household to say a prayer for the Minmatar people, you will need all the help you can get with Mr.Shakor at the helm.

Originally by: Stitcher For what it's worth, congratulations. Ignore the Amarrians in this topic - they were the ones who divided your people in the first place after all, it's only natural that they'd sulk over any hint of reintegration.
Thank you for your unsolicited support.
As I've always said, if the Amarrians are whining about it then we know we're doing something right.
Although I was born enslaved, therefore outside of the Republic, it excites me that the Thukkers and the Republic are making such bold moves towards a unified front. --------------------------------------- Outface the depths of evil with clarity --------------------------------------- |

Oh, I wouldn't say that we're whining.
If anything, I'd say that we're amused by the speed with which the Minmatars are using their "freedom" to adopt a centralised dictatorship.

While i can understand the need for the Matari to get back on track as a nation containing all of the tribes,i can't say i'm happy at the thought of the Reppie's getting involved in our business.
Even more upsetting is the fact that Burning wings little splinter group seem's to have strained relations with our friends in the Cartel also.

Personally, if his plans involve burning Amarr worlds and a Minmatar Nation of united tribes ... I'll be drunk, again.

Im not happy about this news at all since it most certainly will affect the variety of work that me and my crew have enjoyed, I predict a exodus of corps that will seek employment to factions that will offer them the freedom that they have enjoyed in the ranks of the thukker.

So they cant solve the monetary problem and there is the issue with people still being in the camps not mentioning food shortages and they invite whole tribe to republic?
They cant manage few camps so how they can deal with roaming caravans?
The allowing of Thukkers to Republic is only giving green light to piracy in GW so Thukkers can kill independent traders and miners. We cant forget that they are best friends with some of the most powerful crime organisations in New Eden and until the standings will change they remain pirates. Old habits die hard.

For s start the Caravans are completely self sufficient, the tribe won't be asking for any sort of aid from the Republic.
Also if you had actually noticed anything that anyone has already said you would know that the tribe is no longer on the best of term's with either the Cartel,Serpentis or the Syndicate Intaki.

Edited by: Myyona on 11/03/2009 12:38:38 I am happy for my Thukker brothers and sisters.
Though I in no way like the warlike attitude Shakor is leading the Republic with, I do believe in the good of unifying the tribes.

After the thukkers practically put Shakor in power, would anything else make sense? I mean it's more as if the republic had joined the thukkers.
Hopefully with less internal division we can, as a nation, fight the Amarr slavers instead.

A very good point...it does begin to seem that the Republic may be ruled from beyond it's own borders. Quite interesting.

Don't you mean to say the Elder's.Even though they happen to be living in Thukker space at the moment, make no mistake it was them and not the tribe.

This is is a shame... The Thukker Tribe generally seem to be decent people and have provided plenty of good business oppertunities in the past. I am saddened to see that they have decided to crawl under the skirts of the Republic, and even more saddened to hear of their active operations against Cartel assets. I really thought that the friendship we shared meant more than that.
She sighs.
Such is the nature of the uncertain times we live in I suppose.
