Well, I have to say, the program CCP has just launched for installing and patching is the worst pile of crap I ever saw. Even the boot.ini incident was nothing compared to this.
+ There is absolutely no control whatsoever for the download.
+ The download speed suddenly drops without no apparent reason. (I started with 800k, now it's down to 35k - at that rate it's not done on easter! Good thing I set up a skill that's running for 26 more days.)
+ The download is often interrupted by an error without description.
I think I can say that it's in my right to demand a better installer, for the good of all players.

I had no problem downloading patch but game still says incompatible even after patching and I'm not getting any other prompts.
I'd have to agree this patcher seems like it ain't working to great.

How normal patcher works?
It download and apply every patch separately.
How EVE patcher works? It doesn't...

And that was in the in game downloader? You can always download the patch manually using your favorite download manager.

This is exactly the same as every other major update and probably has nothing to do with the patcher. I'm guessing at over a gig your fighting with about another 40,000 people trying to download it.

Didn't have a problem myself. So you have to what? Start the download again? Didn't you have to do that with the old downloader too?

And with the patcher/downloader being re-deployed every time there is a new update (thats what it does if you were paying attention, downloads the patcher in game, then the patcher downloads the actual update) CCP can now implement a total new update process with each patch! (or add things that we'd like, like automatic resume, speed controls and incremental CRC checking as its downloading)
So this is worse than the old one how?

heh I started patching on my laptop before going to school today got home and well oops only had a few gigs of free space on my c drive and blah blah blah harddrive full (bit of room left on the d drive too). >.<
luckily everything went fine on my desktop. had a least a week left on my skills though. always make sure
