Originally by: Imperitus I downloaded the full manual install. I have low disk space on my C: drive so it won't extract the full package. Is there a way I can change the extraction destination?
Eve does NOT have to be a standard route installation (ie: c:/programfiles/ccp/eve) If you have a spare drive you can point the install on that. It will install anywhere you tell it. All it will do is create a folder called ccp. Just make sure the shortcut points there and all should be well.
good luck

Actually, if you dl the full patch version, using 7-zip to extract isnt a bad idea. It takes 1 minute to tell you if you have any corrupt files so that saves you the trouble of trying to install if it is.
So far: I dl'ed the full patch - corrupt (just started my 5th attempt) used the torrent - corrupt using the installer for full patch - corrupt insalled version 71655 (old one) and tried to update that - corrupt dl'ed via IE instead of FF - corrupt
TBH, I have absolutely no faith in CCP fixing this issue or even attempting to fix this issue. They will do what they always do, leave it to the player base to find the fix if there is one
Still, 10 more days until my skill needs changing so im not in a panic .. yet
good luck everyone
EDIT: Btw, I have removed ALL traces of Eve from my computer .. no ccp folder in programme files, no folder in appdata, no folder in docs and settings (screenies etc), removed it all .. still no joy

Try this one out, if it doesnt work well you've not really lost anything by doing it but if it works ......

That link IS working I just checked. If you have trouble with crc errors etc, check this thread for a possible workaround.

Try this possible workaround. The new patch isnt included but it might autopatch properly after the above. It did for me.

I have downloaded the 2GB client 7 times in the past 12 hours, everytime I do, its either corrupted or I get this error. Any advice?
Yes, dont bother. CCP doesnt give a toss whether you play or not, doesnt care whether the install works for you or not, doesnt care to find a solution. CCP's advice to all players suffering patch day problems is to open a WoW account -- im being serious, they really dont care
