Well, enjoy while it lasts
A couple of weeks from now most people probably won't be quite as 'dumb'. Though I suppose you'll always find some who didn't get the message yet.

Originally by: Bellum Eternus So, I was sitting around finding wormholes and I had found a few solid ones in a few different systems, but I didn't really haven anyone around at the time to help me exploit my findings before the wormholes would be gone. What to do, what to do?...
I start chatting up the locals and I offer to be a scout for a player, and then he gets one of his buddies to join in, and then another ten minutes go by and they bring a few corpmates. While all of this chatter is going on in local, it spurs some interest from yet another group of greedy carebears. Now we're looking at a fleet of fourteen ships, including myself. Nobody else has a probe launcher fit.
I keep going on and on about how my character is max skilled with probes and has a super cool maxed out Covert Ops and all sorts of fancy probing implants (which is all true) and pretty soon everyone is on board to go into w-space. So we all stack up at the wormhole and I go in first...
Ooooooo, w-space! Groovy! We hang out for a bit and shoot a few frigs and some cruisers and then I start looking around for another few wormholes. I find another one that leads into a second w-space system. And then it hits me- I'm a pirate, these are carebears, let's see what kind of ISK I can get out of them...
I find a wormhole, jump through it and then announce in fleet that I'm no longer in their local system and that I'll jump back in and give them a bookmark to k-space for the paltry sum of 1.5 BILLION ISK.
Hehe.
After a few minutes of them cussing me and telling me just how horrible a person I am and how much revenge they're going to exact on me, they end up kicking me from the fleet, blocking me and not paying the ransom.
I'm assuming that they all had full sets of implants and fully rigged ships with full T2 fits. Nobody took the time before hand to jumpclone into a clean clone, that's for sure.
Me being in a Covert Ops, I jumped back into their previous system and took a look around. I love not showing up in local. I flew back to some bookmarks I made and found a little pile of corpses on scan. Good times! As I recall there were only eight or so corpses, so I don't know if they all self destructed or not, or if some of the corpses disappeared or what, but I know for sure some of them did. The rest are probably trying to hold out for a rescue (fat chance haha).
To the noobs who cut their nose off to spite their face: I look forward to hearing from you, I have some Fed. Navy Antimatter L waiting with your collective names on it.
To everyone else: I hope you're having as much fun with w-space as I am! Cheers.
Hey Bellum, turns out that brains ar even better than blasters used to be...

CCP have. It's the players holding it back.
Oh that one's gonna leave a mark!
To be fair though, you have to admit that M10 is ALL about the PvP. In one form or another...

I salute you entirely on this. It is their own fault to explore with out a little CYA. One question, how do you NOT show up in local. Does turning on the cloaking device do this or some skill you have?

I'm surprised it took this long for someone to come up with this kind of scam.
Enjoy it while you've got it, because I suspect it will be one of the first things that will be subjected to a nerfbatting by CCP. At some point, some kind of autobookmarking for existing wormholes, or non-skill-dependent ability to return from wormhole space will be in the chute before the third post-Apocrypha patch is launched.
Not that I'm downing Bellum at all, I salute his audacity, just saying about things in general... In the event of an emergency, my ego may be used as a floatation device.

Hahahahah ...
PvP's still there. I think CCP just ran into an issue with the ideas department, myself. They didn't want to take away from what they'd added to hisec, cause that would drive players away. They couldn't just add more losec, because so few use it anyway. Can't add more money to losec, cause then you're just insuring that it gets exploited by few.
Can't just add more nulsec, cause as we saw with the drone regions ... that fails.
Many players wanted a place where small ships were king again. No capitals, no 4 year old carrier alts owning with fighters. No POS battles. No sovereignty metagaming. More importantly, no constant gatecamps.
Personally, I think CCP hit the nail on the head. More players entering dangerous space, becoming vulnerable. More small scale warfare. More exploration, sense of discovery. And in many ways, they were able to test and implement new system designs (trinaries, binaries, 3d nebulas, etc), a new probing system, etc.
Give it six months, and all the new blood will be scared to death again as the '5 year alts' tell horror stories of pirates camping the other side of every wormhole, yadda yadda. But till then ... seems like an excellent solution.
I'm liking it, myself.

I wouldn't call it griefing. If anything, I'd call it a 'failed hostage attempt'. It's still piracy ... it just didn't net any rewards.
Unsuccessful for the intent of making money. Successful in the victimization factor.

Unless the entry wormhole collapsed, all it would take is for one of them to have a bookmark to it to just wander back home.

Whups, my bad.
In that case, they should learn to all fit a probe launcher. :D

I do agree, they needed to learn to fit a probe launcher or only go to w-space with their corp or people they trust.
I would never do something like that, but it was good for a laugh :)
