Hey,
Finallly got around to using this plan.... though my aim is a little different........
I'm a little confused by something in the wiki:
After completing one round of Circle Agent missions, now work the level 1 Data Center 'Graduation Certificate' missions for the same specific Faction. After completing the 3rd 'Cert' mission, take one of the certs to the Agent listed on the certificate. That Agent will give you a multi part Storyline mission where you'll meet another Event Agent.
Data Centers
After completing those missions, turn in Pirate Tags to complete the rest of the Level 1 Data Center Agents. If you don't have the 'Tags' and haven't accepted the 'Tag' mission, you can decline it and return to the Agent later when ready. The easiest way of obtaining the required amount of Pirate Tags is to buy them from the Market or from public Contracts. Pirate Tags can also be found in the wrecks of Pirate NPC's killed at Asteroid Belts, 'Unknown' Cosmic Signature and Cosmic Anomaly combat sites.
Remember - Always get the required amount of Pirate Tags first before talking to these Agents.
I've just completed the circle missions, which to add a point, I seem to have picked up three sets of Faction standings, albeit small ones. I beleive I got 0.03, 0.05 and a 0.8 increase.
That aside, I am about to start the data centre missions, but I'm confused by the descriptive text above and am reluctant to start withour getting some clarity.
Can someone talk me through the first paragraph of the descriptive text? Will it be obvious which the 3rd cert is? Should I go a purchase all of the relevant tags ahead of all the missions? Are the missions to collect tags or are there missions AS WELL AS collecting tags? Can the tags be handed in immediately upon accepting the missions?
I ask these questions as it seems as though the plan is fairly sensative to being messed up...... and I really don't want to mess it up.
Regards
Barrak
*fake edit*
Have you thought about creating a chat channel where experienced and inexperienced people can gather to chat about missions? Might also relieve you of lots of PM's........ just a though.

mxzf wrote:For the data center missions. There are three different sites in each faction's space. Inside these sites there are two different types of missions. Each data center has one courier mission that gives you a Graduation Certificate, which one is the third one depends on the order that you do them (since there are three sites each with one Cert mission), but it doesn't matter what order they're done in.
The other type of mission is the tag missions, where the agent asks you to bring X tags of a given type. It's recommended to have the tags beforehand since it could take months of ratting to get all the tags you need for all the missions. If you already have the tags, you just complete the mission 2 seconds after you accept it.
So, there is one 1-3j courier mission at each site and then tag missions from the rest of the agents there, no other types of missions.
Thanks. Though after accepting the first graduation mission (go get get document) I got sent to another agent that has given me a 5 part mission. Is this correct and am I following this correctly?
Will the send me. Back to t data agent at the end of the five part mission?

DeMichael Crimson wrote:Ahhh, I always liked that mission series. Took me a long time to find the key. For Snatching the Shaman, destroy the Blasted Neon Sign to get Logut's key from a cargo container, then use the acceleration gate. Find Dari Akell and collect her from the wreckage. Use the acceleration gate to warp back, and speak with Logut's Abode to exchange Dari Akell for Logut Akell. Deliver Logut to Pinala Adala. Someone had posted a little trick concerning that mission series. http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1263174&page=9#265Since you've already accepted the mission, I guess the trick won't help. If Dari Akell isn't in the wreckage or container, might have to file a petition in-game, F12 key (Eve Help), character stuck - mission in progress. Hope this helps, DMC
Doh......... for some reason I had turned my 'wrecks' off. God knows anyone following me into this misson over the last few days would have seen tons and tons of corpses :( |

Oh my goodness, oh my goodness, oh my goodness.... so pleased this guide still exists....
Now that the theatrics are out of the way I need some help.
I'm returning to the game, probably in a smaller capacity than previously (famous last words) and ..... I might be bringing the Mrs with me.
She has expressed her discontent at pew pew and wants to do some trading. We'll be creating a new account for her to put 2 (possible 4) traders in the 2/4 main hubs and between us we'll use another of my existing characters to haul (I ain't do that!).
However I want to grind some standings for her and am unsure of how best to approach this.
Let me give you the lay of the land and hopefully someone will give me some decent (and hopefully accurate ) advice.
I have three accounts (not all live again yet). Each of these accounts is headed by a main combat character. Two are outstanding and one is a cheap Tengu pilot. But I think for the sake of standings they will be fine.
My no.1 Character (Barrak here) has various standings all over the place. I think he is key to achieving stuff, but this is based on my extensive knowledge of nothing. Oddly Barrak seems to have great Caldari Navy standing and poor state but strong Minnie and Gallente standings. I used to run a ton of Caldari Navy L4's years ago and I think I tried my hand at Faction warfare which might explain that.
Faction Standings: Minmatar Republic 7.81 (up from 7.39 connections) Gallente Federation 6.47 (up from 5.80 connections) Sisters of EvE 4.96 (up from 4 connections) Caldari State 1.56
NPC corporations: Caldari Navy 8.93 Tribal Liberation Force 8.92 Republic Security Services 6.33
At this stage I am unable to tell if my other two combat characters have any standings anywhere. They are showing nothing in EvEMon and EvEboard.
I do have an existing trader that also has decent standings
Faction Standings: Caldari State 6.08 (up from 5.54) Ammatar Mandate 6.48 (up from 6) Amarr Empire 5.60 (from 5) Minmatar -2.5 Gallente -2.66
Is there a way to utilise either of these characters to the benefit of the others?
I've been away so long I can not recall how you can use two characters to benefit eachother for standings (if you can at all).
Any advice is most welcome.

Thanks DMC,
Sadly you confirmed my suspicions......
Essentially I am going to be limited by the trading characters ability to draw missions. Thus Barrak here will run anything but it will only be what the Trader can give him to run.
Given what I have read overnight, I take it that many of the missions are combat missions? Thus a brand new trading character will not be able to complete them? I'm only asking because if Barrak is of little use I'll stick him back in the WH.
Also, and probably more out of curiosity than anything else, how high would I be able to get a single standing with this plan and how many hours do you think it takes?
As the training is for a trader alt I'm not repairing anything and am not to concerned about upsetting the opposite factions. Though I wouldn't want Barrak to get in trouble

DMC,
Again, thanks for taking the time to reply to me. I can see how I've not been entirely clear on my objectives.
Basically I want to created 2-4 trading characters that will sit in various hubs.
I need very specific faction standing for those characters to minimize tax at those stations. I only 'need' a single standing which is relevant to the station they are in, however if I can pick up the partner faction easily enough then that helps minimizing the number of accounts I use in the future.
That is the main and only goal.
The questions regarding my combat characters was based simply around - can they help the traders?
Initially my two main combat characters (as I have three) will be acting as scouts and couriers (if needed) thus they do require enough standing to be able to travel. Thus Barrak here can't afford to really upset the Amarrs much more (currently at -2.81 up from -5.25! with Diplomacy) and the Ammatars (-3.40).
I hope that answers your questions thus allowing you to answer mine
I do have some separate questions which relate to the above.
1. Assuming that my combat characters can help. Do I simply warp in together with the Trader POD and complete the missions for them or can the trader stay in the station?
2. Based on his standings (corp and faction) Barrak here can take various L4 missions across Minmatar (faction), Gallente (faction) and Caldari Navy (corp). Does that help? and if so, is it any faster?
Hope that is clearly than my previous posts.

Hey,
Thanks for the reply. It's low broker fee's that I need. I was thinking about refining at a later date though.
thanks for the confirmaiton on the missions.
I guess the same would apply to any mission.... ie. Once the Trader can take L4's then Barrak here can complete them. Though.... that is a tough grind to 8.00! |

DeMichael Crimson wrote:I think you're asking about getting a Storyline mission offer. If so then the answer is yes. All types of missions, regardless if from regular Agents or Event Agents, are added to the 16 mission completion count.
DMC
Hey.
Interestingly I did not pick up any storyline mission whilst completing the career agents. I may be mistake as sometimes they were listed as such but that was normally their last mission in the chain.
My understanding was that you got sent somewhere else? though, I do not recall where I got that from. The missions (story) that I did collect were from the agents I was already running and they did not follow the 16 mission rule or anything close to it.
I'm currently grinding Amarr standing for my trader and have nearly completed career (x3) and circle agents. The only thing I have left due to a complete misread is the 2nd batch of datacentre agents along with the L4 initial run.
After that I was wondering what the gains would be by running the Caldaro lot? Without connections I am currently 3.51 with Amarr and 2.63 with Caldari.
Is it worth the time and hassle or am I better off running distribution missions and collecting storylines?
I should probably point out that Caldari standing will not benefit the character in question.

Thanks DM.
I'm running distribution missions now..... that is fun
I'll have another look at that link. To be fair I think you posted it before or on their main standings page. So a bad miss on my part.
Now that I have had two storyline missions I can confirm that I didnt get anything that looked like that in my journal and didnt receive any direct messages. But as you said, this isn't how it works for the career agents.
I think I have a bit of a grind ahead of me as I am at 5.6 faction standing but can not run combat missions (though I have been informed that Distribution, if ran correctly, are better than comabts). However the SL missions are only giving 0.3
lol.... well, better get back to it.
THanks for the assists! |
