Again CCP demonstrates that their devs no longer really play nor are passionate about the game.
As posted by someone else, imagine just how underwhelming the QR trailer would have been with the new cyno effect.

Capitals entering the field used to be a blinding, vicious overkill of lightning and massive ebil ships roaring forth from the abyss. I love some of the new animations like giga pulse lasers an stuff, but the new effect is overused. Lensing has its place, like in wormholes and stuff, but I miss the violent and loud experience of jump drives and warping. It used to be pretty epic when I had to turn sound down or off because 100+ allies were all charging through a gate and I couldn't hear TS at all, or when a couple dozen capitals would blind everyone on the field prior to obliterating them. The lensing effect CCP has employed in-game is grossly overused and if it is indeed supposed to streamline graphics load somehow, give me a 'Classic Effects' box I can check so at least I can experience old warp/jump gfx as I had grown to love them.

I'll probably get flamed for this. But I like it. I liked the old one, but I feel this is is a perfect replacement. I bet it'll be less laggy, and ship appearing out of nowhere (BSG-like) is pretty awesome.
Just my opinion.
