Hello.
I've done some scanning this evening and i encounter a strange thing and i don't know if it's a bug or i'm missing something.
I've found 100% Signal Str but i can't warp there... I even narrow it to the point where i found it with 0.25 scan range... still ... 100% but no warp to. When i click on it it's either a red sphere or a red circle (aren't those the representation of not 100% strength signatures ?). Shouldn't a 100% signal be a green dot where you can warp too. I've attached a picture below:
Screenshot here
The system is only a 0.4 so i think it's not a hard to find 10/10 plex. Also my scanning skills are almost maxed (maxed in increase str anyway).
So, i'm missing something or this is a bug (should not show 100% since i can't warp to).
Are the 100% strength signals still not 100% found ?
Any tip would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Edited by: Morberi on 15/03/2009 21:28:56 It's a bug I believe.
Rejigger your probes a bit and then warp in again.
It looks like you're using 4 probes to find it, and its an anomaly anyway, but I thought I might mention that to warp to signatures you need more than 1 probe getting 100%.

YDIW. Your probe pattern is fail. You need two things to find a site -- 100% signal strength and the 'green dot' -- and there is actual technique involved. Also brush up on what the symbols mean on the scanner. That red halo between probes is significant. Read up.

I moved them several times. First i found the 100% str signal with their range at 1.0 au. I then narrow the signal while using the probes at 0.5 au and then at 0.25. My point is i moved/reposition them several times with multiple scans. All 100% str signal but no warp to.
I found a bit earlier another anomaly which worked fine, no pb...

No bug there. You cant warp to it because you havent found it properly yet (once you get a green dot on the map you're there). The red ring means that the site is somewhere on that ring...re-position your probes and you'll get a final hit.

Yeah sorry I didn't look at that image enough. You need a green dot.
And yeah your probe layout is fail as far as I can see, though that may be perspective. Next time take pics from multiple angles so we can see your layout, because as it looks now you have a line of 3 and then a 4rth off center - you need a box.
But there is a bug last time I heard where you could warp in off grid with a green dot 100%.

Arrange four probes in a pyramid (tetrahedron) pattern with the "ring" in the middle of it. Extend the range if it doesn't fit.
Have you done this?
But, yeah. These forums seriously need some indicator that the post has ended and the sig has started. |

I've tried to include the circle in the probe spheres of course. Maybe my layout is wrong, i'll reposition them next time.
Since it was the first time i've tried the new system, the 100% signal strength and yet not warpable confused me a bit. Now i know that it isn't a bug and i need to reposition till i get a green dot.
Cheers.
