i'm in a drake with 7 heavy assault launchers, level 1 mission and they won't fire on a target? when i activate them all, one misile launches and that's it. why is that?

yes, launchers are loaded and the first (and only missile) does hit the target and cause damage. i know this situation is silly and overkill but i was experimenting something. besides, i never did missions, i was mining from the strat and casually training other stuff... but i still don't undersand why they won't fire???

also, when i click the launchers to fire, then start blinking green, they don't fire (except one missile) and when i click them all again to stop firing, they blink red for a whole minute or two before becoming idle...

Are your launchers grouped into 1 group? Are you firing them all separately? If so, how long in between?
If they're firing at exactly the same time, you may be seeing all missiles in one spot.

well, i don't know what grouping means and how to achieve it? i just click first, second, third and so on, so maybe half a second apart, even less probably. but then, the progress bar goes around in all of them and none of them fires :(

Check how many hit notifications there are in your combat log after firing your missiles. If they all activate, they all fire and they all should hit. How many missiles you see flying depends on the interval, if they're fired close together they might all display together as one.

Experiment with the missiles by firing them at different targets at once. In level ones, 3 light missiles that are best against the rat you're facing will usually toast any of them in a single volley. Some require only 1 or 2, but there's a few that can often require an entire volley to take down.
Also, a Drake may seem cool, but there's a chance of being stuck at the acceleration gate because it only allows smaller ships ----------------------------------- "What can go wrong, will go wrong."

ok, everything's fine, all launchers are firing according to the log. but it's too much for a fast drones and frigates... damage is low as expected. thanks all!

Oh, they're all firing, all right.
The EvE client, in a effort to cut down on rendering tines, will "group" your missiles into one onscreen if they fire close enough together. If you fire them all at near the same time, then fire less missiles at once, you'll notice a difference in the "mussile" that's rendered - it'll grow or shrink according to the number of missiles fired int he same half-second timeframe.
I use the mouse to fire my missiles on my Drake, and I'm slow enough that they'll separate into three groups, one a little larger than the others - and after a while, you learn to see how many missiles are fired by the size of the rendered missile alone.
