Edited by: Renarla on 16/03/2009 04:23:39 Is it still NRDS? How safe is it to rat there? I know it can't be all that safe, it is 0.0 an' all, and no space is safe in the first place, but I was just wondering if it's a viable place for someone to rat their sec status up? (Also, what type of rats are there?)

CVA's policy is NRDS but, as always, you need to be alert, especially as there are plenty of non-CVA threats roaming the area. The rats are Sansha. PI5 and LFA space in general is quiet enough most of the time to get some ratting done.

Thanks. How common are gatecamps in the area? Are bubbles something that I don't really need to be worried about, or would finding one be a rarity in CVA space?

Not that rare, especially near the border systems. As always, be alert, stay aligned as much as possible, bookmark safe spots and off-grid scan points, use your directional scanner and you'll be fine most of the time.

we still operate (as mentioned above) NRDS rules.
pirates however are a rare but real threat in providence
if you want to stay for longer i would advise you to get in touch with CVA officials so you can be graned access to the various in-game and out of game intelligence tools.
in case you sec status needs to be worked up from negative i would advise you to get in touch as well to avoid mistakes.
gate camps are generally set up by blue entities but we do not encourage them at times where there is no real threat to be stopped.
best regards

Edited by: Iria Ahrens on 16/03/2009 10:52:50 Yes we are NRDS. But don't assume you are not red. Talk with a CVA diplomat first before coming into Providence to make sure you are not on the red list. If you were in a red corp then switched to a neutral corp, you are still considered red.
It's relatively safe to rat. But that's assuming you are constantly monitoring local and intelligence channels and warp to a safe spot and cloak, or go to station when reds appear.
I suggest setting Catch to your avoidance list so your autopilot doesn't route you through HED. You will still need to follow all the standard lowsec/null sec traveling strategies. Slap on some stabs and inertial comps when traveling with your ship. Don't warp to zero if there are reds in system, make sure the gate is clear before you approach. Gate camps usually don't last long, but they can pop up suddenly and catch you off guard if you aren't prepared.

Agreed.
Providence and slaver held catch are very safe places to rat and mine. No need to watch local or keep up to date on intel channels.
In all seriousness, CVA are good, but they cant be everywhere at once, and the first person to report a drag bubble is generally the one who just lost a ship to it. Watch local, keep your eye on the intel channels and with any luck you wont be seeing us up close. We come for our people |
