I've created an in-game channel for individuals, corps and alliances interested in discussing W-Space colonization - strategies, tactics, techniques, questions, pros/cons, recruitment, "help, I'm lost", etc. The channel is "WSpace Colonists" - please join and spread the word if you're interested.

LOL, well, I've done that too. This was written well before this post, honest:
Corp Description: "Divide By Zero [Div0] is a W-space colonization corp focused on exploration and exploitation of new deep space systems."

We've got a pretty good group of folks now discussing strategies and sharing their findings. Please join in if this is something that interests you. The more experience we have to build on, the better. :)

Right, because it makes no sense for people to want to work together to get the most out of valuable resources.

Seems problematic.
You live in a single system all the time?
If you get separated your corp mates will have a hell of a time getting back in.

There are already members of this channel who have set up camp in W-Space and are making it work. Sure there are challenges, but that's what makes it worth doing (and also keeps everyone from doing it).

Well, first of all, I didn't personally mess up 0.0... take that up with someone else. :)
Seriously though, wanting to set up a base of operations to work from for an extended period of time, as opposed to the quick run in, blow stuff up and run out operations that most corps will do in W-Space, actually makes sense to a lot of us. Having a safe place to go restock and repair vs having to leave w-space, threatening the stability of the wormhole every time you run out of cap boosters - well, it seems like the right thing to do.
Some corps may get highly territorial with their "settled" systems, especially if not doing so undermines their ability to operate safely and prosper. Yeah, this is like most of 0.0, but it's also like low sec (where pirates control choke points and towers fall just as easily as in 0.0) and even high sec, where wars are fought daily over market competition, or just plain being there. Like all other aspects of Eve, there are many of us who see this as the opportunity we've been waiting for to head west and pan for gold.
Join the channel :)

Unless you can handle the boredom of w-space you might want to examine all you options. good luck

I've been wondering if anybody colonizing wormhole space has taken a serious pvp wing in with them, or if some pvpers have just gone and colonized. If you had a hauler alt and a prober you could always close a wormhole to someplace you didnt want to go and find the new one. You would be limited to not going over battlecruiser sized hulls on most raids.
The plus side being noone expects a wormhole raid.
