Had the same problem myself. It isn't a problem with pressing apply. EveMon reports the skill as having changed, and it will only know from querying the active game data.
Just fired off a petition so will see if anything comes of it. It is certainly irritating that such a fantastic new feature appears to have some problems.

Originally by: Kendrick Marshal I set up a few skills in the training queue, leadership 2, 3, and 4 and left them to train. I watched their progress on two programs, one being evemon and the second being Capsuleer, an iPhone application. Both showed I was training leadership 4, I log in when I had two hours of training left to set up another skill in the queue and I get a message saying skill training complete and that I have no other skills in my queue but leadership has only been trained 1/4 of the way through leadership 2. So, I'm not sure why it'd show that it's being trained but not training.
I checked evemon just now after finding this out, it says I'm nearly done training the skills, I just updated it and leadership is back at 2.
Would 3/4 of leadership 2 happen to ETA arround 2 hours for you?

Confirming, i have this problem too. I was finishing up warfare link specialist lvl 4 and last night i had 5 hours left, so i opened up my character sheet, and added electronics upgrades to the end of the skillque, and in the skillque, it showed electronics upgrades after warfare link specialist, but now i just woke up, and my character wasnŠt training anything.
It seems however, that if your training a skill that completes within the 24 hour limit, they will start training.

Once again traning fails.
I strongly recomend ppl to switch back to manual skills activation till CCP fix that problem.

"I've had it fail more than once, and on three different accounts. It just never starts training the queued skill, but Evemon reports that the skill is training. Then you login and it shows nothing training and then evemon will get that update."
And other similar posts...
It has failed several times for me now, on several accounts and characters. EVEmon reports it as working, when I login no training is active. Lost a few days training so far.
And why isn't CCP all over this! The worst bug in the expansion of you ask me, and the best feature.
Someone posted it might be when the last skill in the queue would go past 24 hours. I suspect this too. But it's still not 100%, as a skill I queued from 0>1>2>3>4 worked well, and started the 3>4 training even though that was beyond the 24 hours. It may have failed when I have jumped skills in the queue, and the last one ends beyond the 24 hours.

I have had mixed success with the skills queue. I have had it wrok successfully for 13 skills queued and fail with just 2 skills queued. I have a suspicion that the failure may have something to do with a skill finishing during the server downtime, but am not sure. I have accidently had a skill finish during today's downtime so will check it when I get home.
Have petitioned the failure, but have had no response in a week apart from the generic message they sent out a few days ago.

Edited by: Agrikaan on 19/03/2009 16:19:22 And again today. EVEmon and the iGoogle applets I have running at work were reporting three different skills starting during the day, from 1>2 and a last one from 2>3. When I got home, none of that had actually happened, 6 hours of training lost.
It's possible one finished during DT.

Same problem here across three accounts. It's worked a couple of times on very short skills and (iirc) once only on a skill taking longer than 24 hours to complete.
Evemon shows it's training, so it looks like a fault at login as the skill doesn't seem to get updated as finished until then.
So it may be (I'm guessing here) if the skill doesn't actually complete until the login then the queued one is lost as in effect the first skill has finished later than the start time of the second skill.
That's of course except when it works.

Yes I'm having this problem. Sometimes the queue works and sometimes it doesn't. It works about 60% of the time I think... At least I haven't had any skills reset to 0. I've just lost about 4 days of training - so until there's a fix, I'm queueing pre-Apocrypha style. |

I have had the same problem. I thought I wasn't doing something right the first time I queued a skill. The second time I used the que system I made sure I made sure I pressed the apply button. It didnt work and now I lost about 20 hrs. of training. I didnt have this problem before the latest update though.

I've had this happen to me and my alt today. Sending in a petition. You would think that CCP would be more active in this forum yet I see so few blue posts. Better to avoid a problem than to face it!

I experienced a similar problem. With a few hours left on a multi-day skill, I added the next level in that skill to the end of my training queue. I logged on to find level four had completed but level five had not started. Previously, my successful use of the queue had been priming the queue with short skills and then adding a multi-day skill to the end.

Originally by: Ap0ll0n It seems however, that if your training a skill that completes within the 24 hour limit, they will start training.
I thought this might be it, but I'm now getting the queue to work properly, and tonight I watched sucessfully flip to a 24+ hour skill.
What I did initially was: - Open the queue - Pause - Remove any skills in the queue, click Apply - Grab skills from the list on the left (do not add the skills from the normal skill window, just from the queue!) - Click Apply
This worked, and now I simply pause, add the skill(s), and click Apply. I don't use the skill window at all, just the queue window. Always pause, fiddle, then Apply. Seems to be consistently working for me now this way.
I think what happens is that when you add the skill from the old skill window it bugs it, so the only way to fix the queue is to clean the queue out and start over with the skill queue window. -------------------------------------------- This new learning amazes me, Sir Bedevere. Maybe.
I used the queue window to add SKILLS THAT FIT WITHIN QUEUE'S TIMEFRAME skills and added the last one (that didn't fit) from the original SKILLS window.
It appeared to work fine. And in addition...it didn't timestamp the HISTORY tab with my login time. It actually looks like it used the real completion time unlike before.
Unless there was a server change implemented recently.

GG CCP.
This.
I've had it work many times across many accounts. Twice now, I have logged on to 'no skill training' despite an update minutes earlier in eve-mon saying I was still training and 8 day skill. It appeared to have never switched skills in game, but DID switch them via the API. This is the big WTF !

I've noticed this too. But it never came up when I didn't open the training queue window but just right clicked on the skill and chose to add to the end of the skill queue.
Since then I completely avoid opening that window and had no issues any more.

Seems that CCP is aware and is most likely working on it. Until they fix it, which will hopefully be SoonÖ, I suggest using some of the workarounds like manually changing skills or not opening the queue window (which apparently works). Had this happen to me across a few accounts too, unfortunately.

Originally by: Susy Capezzolo What's really incredible is not having any feedback from CCP about that issue, new skill training system let ppl loose days of trained skills... Did anyone have some kind of feedback to the opened petitions?
no answer still. I understand if GM's are swamped, cause eve usually isn't worth playing after every major patch.
But at the very least, they should acknowledge the problem on the site / forums somewhere, so we know they're giving this priority!
I mostly pay my subscription for the training time, cause after a long time of playing eve, I don't play all that much... so I'd like to get my training time for my money at least!

haha good one...
If we have to stay logged in, we don't really need the queue
Ohh wait, I see CCP's strategy, first they removed the ghost training, now they're going reduce training by half while you're subscribed too ... _____________________________________ I'm Paper; Rock's fine, nerf Scissors |

Edited by: Gluthor on 22/03/2009 09:58:58 ok i've just experienced this, the skill que had been working fine for me up until now.
set some skills on friday on 3 different accounts to train as i'm away from home for 5 days, (i double checked to make sure it was all setup correct)
checked eve mon today to see how it was going - everything fine
decided to log in and check a few things using a different computer to the one i usually use and there is no skill que in place and nothing is training.
seeing as this is the first time i've logged on using a different computer and this is the first time it's happened, and it's happened to 2 characters similtaneously, I'm inclined to think this is an issue with the skill que being local to a certian machine ? and hence when i logged in on a different one, there was now que and therefor all the points that should have been trained got cancelled. :(

Same problem on 2 accounts.
Wake up, check evemon - all is fine, skills changed during the night and trained away happily. Log in - both had stopped after completing the skill they had running before i went to bed.
What personally rattles my cage is the fact that evemon reports them as being trained and continuously does so as its checking the database every hour. Having evemon running has turned into a false sense of security - because of CCP...
A simple reply of "we are aware of this issue and are looking into it" would help. |

Same problem here...I've lost in total about 150.000 SP! (somewhere up to 3 days of training).
I already have a petition for about one week and still haven't received any answer. I'm stopping here in criticizing CCP because I may say things not good to any of us.
Also, I would like to ask, if anyone resolved the issue, to share it with us how.
Thank you!

Didn't work for me either. Thought, I never trusted this queue system, I only lost few hours of training. First 2 times I thought I never pressed the apply button, but after that it seemed clear that the queue doesn't work for me, at least.

Originally by: Bom Bommer Edited by: Bom Bommer on 17/03/2009 09:43:57 I don't know if it can help but I also observed the same problem (EveMon claiming the new skill is correctly training and logging in to discover it is not). Here is what happened, I was finishing science V and next in queue was energy management IV. - Science V stopped 1 SP before the end during the night - Two hours later, I woke up and launched EveMon. It told me that Energy Management IV has just started (while it should have been two hours earlier) - I logged in to see how it was ingame and observed that science V indeed stopped 1SP before the end and that nothing was currently training (contrary to what EveMon said).
A couple of precisions : - Energy management IV was already partially trained before I put it in queue. - I used the "add to end of the training queue" command directly from the skills list. Don't think I opened the skill queue planner to click "apply" just after that since it should not be necessary.
ASLO the same, but with drones 5 following to a 2 seconds trained drone combat operation 4.
I could have sworn I checked in manually ingame on saturday too. Very annoying.

Confirming I've had problems on both my active accounts. Set the skill queue up, click "Apply". At some time later, I log off. EVEMon and various utilities that use the EVE API report that my characters are successfully training through each of the skills that were queued up. Then when I log in, training has been stopped when the first skill in the queue was just about to finish.
Here I was telling my significant other how I wouldn't have to interrupt "us time" to switch skills in EVE - I come back to find I've been betrayed!
