I've been playing this game a long time now, but I've never once heard of anyone who actually managed to get podded without updating their clone. I've come close a time or two, so it seems likely that it has happened a reasonable amount of time---if you've got stories, share 'em.

A guy that used to be in my corp lost SP two times on two accounts. However, he never lost all his SP's though, just a level 5 skill here and there.

Me, my first podding after getting a skill to level V and I hadn't upgraded my clone.
It took me about two years before I relearned learning V.
I still remember that pirates name, Ginger Magician, or something like that.

Lost BS lvl 5 once a long time ago... got shot in 0.0 and ended up in a (little did I know) low sec station. Undocked was about ready to align to the gate (one jump to high sec should be fine) when *poof* back in the station. I first thought it must have been lag, but as it turned out some one though it fun to kill noob ships near the station while tanking the station guns.
After that I never had a bad clone. Then again after nearly 5 years I guess it should happen once right. ------------------------------------------- Should you disagree with me, well I guess that is because I disagree with you. If you have a problem with that please feel free not to tell me. |

Yes the founder of Galactic Express, Hevn Paladin did it twice.
I think Phoenixx Hunter forgot to update once too.

I read it as he doesn't know that the clone contract covers all his jump clones? ==================================================

Back on topic. You don't get sp wiped since a long time. Back in the day(2003) you did lose all but 900k sp if you got podded with no clone contract, but now you lose a maximum of 1 lvl off your highest rank skill at lvl 5.
I've sometimes found myself running around doing stuff having forgot to update my clone, but have managed to not get into any real danger before realizing my folly. ==================================================

Edited by: Glassback on 19/03/2009 12:30:53 2008.12.22 22:45 So you died? Well you have a Clone Grade Pi at Ipref II - Moon 1 - CONCORD Assembly Plant station. Enjoy your afterlife. Note that 220310 skill points were lost from the skill Gallente Battleship.
You were last cloned at 2008.12.20 21:25:00
This however pales into insignificance compared to when I lost 45 days from cap ships V.
