So after learning that multiboxing is allowed in eve i would like to know which multiboxing program is the most popular and used in EvE, Are there any free multiboxers out there? which? So far i have found ISBoxer which costs money, what other multiboxers are out there? |

There's no officially supported multibox program (and depending on what it does or doesn't do, it might be against the rules if it automates much). Typically people just run two copies of the game one one machine. |

I generally just run multiple clients on the same machine. Seeing as most actions automatically repeat themselves until you turn them off, you can manage several characters at the same time without too much difficulty. |

I personally use Synergy
It works well for eve , and general browsing. It's also free. There is a fine line between a post and a signature. |

Yeah, there are a lot of different ways you can do things depending on what equipment you have and what you want to try and do.
Mining works very well.
PVE works well on a small scale.
PVP - you want to really know what you're doing before trying that.
If you use windows - you will have a problem if you also try to run an instance full screen. Clicking anywhere outside of the full screen instance of the game will drop it to the task bar.
If all instances are in windows you can switch between them easily - if you can see them - which depends on how many monitors you've got.
Multiple computers works best.
Multiple monitors is next.
Atl tabbing will work but is less than desirable if there's any combat going on.
If you have multiple systems and multiple accounts you want to fool around with different combinations to see what works best for each activity on each system.
One thing I found that worked well was - for those systems that had two monitors - staying in full screen on the main monitor - while having the task bar showing on the other. That way you can click on exactly the character you want to bring up rather than alt tabbing about. Of course - this was best used for more than two clients - as otherwise you could just put them both in a window. It did depend however on how each system ran in a window as some work much better than others.

PvP: Only multibox if you are really good at what you do and know what you are doing.
PvE: ISBoxer or just plain simple windowed mode and multiple screens (one or 2 accounts on a single screen). Can be done easily. Even better when mining or trading is involved as it requires almost no attention at all. Inject your skillbook before you leave the station. Synergy is designed for when you have multiple machines, each with their own screen, and want to only use one keyboard/mouse. It wouldn't really help at all if you have just one screen and are using a KVM switch.
Also, @Toshiro GreyHawk, you should check out Fixed WIndowed mode. It has the fullscreen view but with the window-switching ability of Windowed mode. I find that it works much better than running things fullscreen and having them minimize whenever you want to change windows (even if you're just multitasking on your comp with one Eve window open). |
