I find with 2 tracks you can get a range even with antimater where you start hitting at 10k with 1 its around 8k. Usually you can get up to frigs with that. ---

Ill give it a go with electron blasters and two tracking computers, that should work nicely. Ill stick iridium in, see what happens.

The Thorax has to have 5 guns.. You have to sacrafice alot to do this because of the power drain but it worth it. You will always have to protect your ship against weapon jamming(thorax biggest weakness) and also use lots of medium drones or preferably some heavy drones to use your ship offensive capabilities to the maximum.

For npc's I use a slightly unconventional setup:
Highs: 5 * 'Light' Neutron Blasters (preferably named) loaded w/ antimatter ammo
Meds: 100 AB (I know about the current cap bonus for using MWD's but unless you have Gallante Cruiser lvl5 I find it works better w/ little sacrifice speed wise), T2 Med Cap Battery, Webber
Lows: T2 Med Armor Repairer, 2 * Hardeners of choice depending on what your fighting, 2 * Cap Relays
I just warp in at 15k, lock down the rats, Ab up to closest one (usually take the frigates out 1st), set orbit at 500m, web and procede to pound them down.
I find the Light Neuts give me as much or more firepower than Med Electrons even w/o the ship related damage bonus. And tracking is not an issue w/ frigate size guns. I've taken out 110k Guardian Captains with this setup and have done the 'Gone Bezerk' mission w/o even deploying drones.
For this setup to be viable you need good cap skills. I recommend energy sys op, energy mgt, control burst at lvl 4. Doesnt hurt to have fuel conservation worked up as well to save cap on the AB.
To use the T2 repairer you need the 3 mechanic skills at lvl4, but since they shortened the duration of med's, you could probably do fine with them at lvl3 with hardeners and a named repairer, preferably 'Accomodation'.

really really bad for taking damage, but I kill everything quick enough for it not to matter. Best setup I've used by far. No worries about tanking, keeping myself alive, whatever.. just fire on someone and know that they'll be dead before I get to 50% armor. If I get a bit unlucky (go against 3 caracals for example) I use the shield booster a couple of times.. no big deal ________
