Every couple of months I do search about possible sequel of my beloved Homeworld series.
Today I stumbled on this: link1 and link2
Those two articles are from end of last year, and I'm eager to find some more
Speculations?

I vote "Yes" to this!
One of my favorite games ever!
Which reminds me...someone send a copy of Homeworld to CCP to show them how a well done positioning system on a 3D map is implemented (i.e. positioning probes).

When they were developing Apocry, the dev in charge of designing the UI interface was already talking about how he was trying to mimic Homeworlds, as well as input at lot of the more commonly used 3d graphic program interfaces.
Just interesting tidbits.

I truly hope they make Homeworld 3 better. Not just better graphics or different singular gameplay like DOW II such a simple game. Kind of boring. and Company of Heroes. Sure I've played them and i've purchased the games I support relic. I just dont like their current perspective of simple short gaming.
On that note im off to relic forums to rant sum.

if HW3 will be as hard and engaging as HW1 and HW2 before the first patches, and you add new gfx and an even more epic storyline (if HW1 and 2 weren't epic enough), they will pretty much become the best RTS makers in the world (like they aren't near there already now)
I remember when I played HW1 back in the days of my ole' P3 500, and how the storyline gave me the chills everytime I went through it, and the hours I spend studying the booklet with the clan's story and Kharak.
for the first game that Relic ever made, they hit the jackpot. ---

Please, oh please, let it be so.
I just got done raging at that greedy divorcee thread and even the mere possibility of a HW3 cheers me up immensely.

you must be joking. HW1 was ok. HW2 story was complete crap. it was FORCED epicness and it utterly failed. -----------------------------------

back then, when I start playing the damn thing, I didn't knew of much more epic stuff than those.
I might agree a bit on the HW2 lack of "natural" epicness tho =|.
...altho I still enjoyed it, specially taking into consideration that Relic stated several times that with HW2, they just wanted to improve the experience a bit, and actually not do anything "WHOA!" that would replace HW1 entirely. And I have to agree that the interface and playability of HW2 was quite improved in relation to HW1. ---

They are thinking about it, that means they are thinking of game design concepts, storylines and all that crap... then they will present it to some suit to convince them for money.

Although HW2 didn't meet our expectations, I still liked it. HW1 was so much beyond any other space related rts, so we (I) expected same breakthrough with hw2.
Relic tried to deliver something equally fresh with hw2, but storyline sucked and engine wasn't so much more advanced than its predecessor.
If someone from initial dev core listened player base rabbles, I'm sure (at least I hope) that hw3 could show us something equally new, especially with current engine possibilities, like hw1 did.
If not, I'll still be happy because hw1 serial gave me so much of enjoyment and unique experience, like no other space rts game gave me before.
Except EVE ofc, even it's not in same category.

I would have said that about HW2 before it came out, but then if flopped hard and here we are and Relic afraid to touch the franchise.

Not to mention Homeworld 3 would really ahve to be a HW1 prequel, probably something along the lines of the first hiigaran-taiidan war where the hiigaran's found their core and ****d the taiidan, but the bentusi came in and ****d them and they got sent into exile.
at the end of HW2 s'jet is pretty much god. -----------------------------------

I think THQ will be a lot more respectful to Relic while they develop any potential Homeworld 3 than Vivendi likely was when they were developing Homeworld 2. This would obviously be a positive thing.
