For now it clearly shows that the design focus has been to introduce randomly accessible "dark pit" where one goes to gather resources that make up T3.
No other detail speaks volumes about this quite like the duration of unstable wormholes that make it impossible to plot more than 2 - 3 W-System routes, and for very short use times.
WHAT IF
What if this was to be expanded in a way that some W-Space system <-> W-Space system holes would be stable. But not between those that have random wormholes to known space, but into deeper unknown space where there are more dangers (such as sleepers patrolling stable wormholes, atleast periodically to being with).
Interconnectivity between these deep space system would not have to be extensive network of stable wormholes (infact, rather not) but batches of system connected - with unstable holes coming and going like now between random systems (but never to known space - only the currently existing "border" W-Space systems).
The little explorer and vagabond in me is purring at the thought of this kind of idea.
However, I brought it here mostly to receive feedback from you. Would deep unknow excite you or do you rather see it as pointless waste of time and DP storage?
Note that I purposely refrained from painting a complete picture what wonder and dangers such space could contain - rather leaving that up and open for you to evaluate along with the fact if you think this has any appeal for you as a concept.
So, "Go dig up Elite, fool" or "I might be one exploring it"?

yes wormholes deeper into unknown space should lead to sleeper's empire space where there are stable wormholes there linking the sleeper's empire systems.... while rated 0.0 to human explorers they would be similar in structure to low sec systems with lots of sleeper stations but without the ability to anchor pos's there. they would also be patrolled by large groups of sleepers

Talocan is the second ancient race out of 4

A corp mate of mine (actually, two of them) claimed that dev had somewhere explained that this was already the case - some W-Space systems are never accessible directly from known space.
Try as I might, have not yet located anything stating this. Not entirely bad, since I do like the unknown and exploring satisfies my curiosity (even in the mundane, finding out how things work).
Since my first post about this, we've been having a regular brainstorm about the extends this unknown space could be taken. We really do hope CCP will take this further and suck more of us into the great unknown.
Here's for hoping :)

EDIT: Because I forgot to say something.
I've tried WH space once... And I'm not all that impressed tbh. It's like missioning in large groups.
Also, if you could find a stable area of WH space, then you'd get corps FARMING the sleepers. And none of us want that...
There, quashed your idea for expanding WH space. Maybe having sleeper frig squads warp into your WSpace safe spots and picking off unsuspecting people? No more afk in WSpace :P

I imagine the reason there isn't some empire space behind WH space is that it would take a ton of work to create it.
Fortunately WH space opens the door to the possibility of such a place arriving in a future update.
I would love to see entirely new galaxies on the other side of that wormhole network, perhaps even the one the first New Eden settlers came from. :)
