Edited by: LiBraga on 20/03/2009 16:20:46 You'd log both accounts on within the same client.
Whilst in this mode you could give an order to the 2nd account i.e. salvage wrecks and whilst you were focusing on your main account, your second would be salvage each wreck you make using an AI, much like how drones work, except the AI would control it's own tanking based upon the mods you fit.
You'd be able to swap between accounts by clicking on a small view window of what the second account would normally be seeing or via a hotkey.
It would require additonal leadership skills (a use for charisma I think) and would be an incentive for having multiple accounts / could be implemented with the next account offer. Commands would only work if both accounts were in the same system to prevent it being exploited. Many people are having issues running multiple clients and if they could be combined into 1 that would free up some resources to improve performance.

Any dedicated cap ship pilot has 2 accounts, when I'm not in my dread or carrier I like to utilise my other account as well... and yes, real friends are good, in EVE and real-life, but sometimes they are busy doing something else. --------------- What! Then use your second account and use that thing you got between your ears as ai. If you don't enjoy actualy playing the game then don't do the not-funny part.

i think what would be more usefull is to allow multiple logons on a single account i mean whats the point of allowing multiple characters per account if you can only train one at a time give us a break and stop making us pay for alts

I'm surprised CCp allows character trading. That seems to be the reason behind NOT allowing us to train all 3 account characters at the same time.
Just eliminate character trading. It takes away from the game when you can use a character you haven't groomed yourself.

3 chars is something left for us from the old times when you could train all 3 characters at the same time, but its bad economy for ccp and total offtopic.

Even if its off-topic I still think that training 2 chars on one account would only favor CCP in the end, since ppl would train more ppl, therefor selling more chars between them, and if training 2 chars at the same time, would only allow ppl to spec in more stuff. And still have EVE grow alot, because new players who come into the game can therefor buy GTC, sell GTC for isk, then buy chars, get more isk, and these ppl buy GTC again from ppl who sell GTC's in the end you can only be on 1 char on 1 account, so if you want 2 ppl on at the same time you need several accounts anyway. And thats half the point of it. I think CCP would only gain from it.
2 accounts on 1 client is a good idea for ppl with low end computers. And would give a wider variety of ppl the oppertunity to get more accounts, more money for CCP to get rich and develop EVE further. If you really look at it, these ideas would gain all parts.
But how the 2 accounts on 1 client would go practicly would be a another case.

This is a lot of effort for what appears to be a very small marginal benefit over just opening two accounts at once. In many cases this would actually be worse than just using two accounts.

I'm not for anything that automates activity's that otherwise could be done by yourself or other players. I hate to say it but if your PC can't run 2 clients then its time for a new PC. No I'm not rich, I don't have the latest and greatest PC, that can run 10 copys of eve without any issues. But eve isn't that heavy a program to start with. If you can run the new version then odds are you can run 2 clients.

My laptop is brand new m8. A huge part of the player base run EVE on laptops... infact EVE caused my old old laptop to over heat and cook the gpu. The problem is that unless you have a big budget for a laptop you'll be limited by the gpu or cpu. Hell... reasonable graphics on a laptop have only just made it to the ú500 mark. --- HP6735s --- Limited by it's DX10.1 GPU, HD3200 can play movies etc but bottlenecks due to shared RAM. In truth my system does run 2 clients quite well but I had to customise the client (lots of forum searching for that) and as the client develops further then mulitple instances will greatly increase resource needs.

While I understand were your comming from, anyone that games on laptops knows that its going to cost a lot of moeny to game well, for the same $500 you spend on a laptop, you can get a pc that will easily run 2+ clients.
IMO, regardless if you can run 2 clients on a pc or laptop or not, thats no excuse to automate hauling, or any other form of game play.
