I actually stand by the quote wholeheartedly by the way. And I think this war shows why its an accurate quote. And make no mistake, I am not throwing up my arms and saying whether its good or bad that the Pheonix Alliance are now in bed with the Pirate Syndicate ... I am just saying that its deceitful for the PA corps to call themselves "anti pirates". They should either remove the term or replace it with something more truthful like:
"Ethically neutral"
"Insular territorial"
"None of your business"
Something like that.

Seriously, what are you guys expecting? You go to war with an anti-pirate alliance, an alliance that has tried its hardest to fight pirates whenever and where ever it can.
You gentlemen got a NAP with FE; the price of which was ejecting us from the PA. A NAP that allowed your masters to get on with the more pressing business of post-castor grid mining. Doesn't quite sound like fighting "pirates whenever and where ever it can" to me.
Originally by: KIAHicks Piracy is a meaningless term ...... ask Jade.
So you're now using an out of context quote from Jade to bolster your argument; a quote that you're previously held up as an example of Jade's perfidy? Thanks Hicks, err Gafton, no Beatrice, oh, you know who you are, hilarious stuff.
Incorrect. We ejected JF for the single reason that we really really really dislike Jade and the way she posts on the forums. This may not be a good enough reason for many who like Jade, but it was good enough for us. At the time we were actually camping with a number of JF, and could have backstabbed JF by destorying their ships, however instead we explained to Athule what vote had just taken place, and he agreed to remove his ships from the camp. I can't say he was happy with the vote, but he respected it and the ships left. (Despite what others have said happened in many forum posts during the PA posting blackout)
F-E at the time had given up on the piracy ways, so we decided to give them a second chance and NAP with them. If they ever went back to piracy, we would go back to war, both sides were happy with that. After all why fight pirates, if your not willing to reap the rewards of them giving up their piratical ways?
Everyone can throw the term pirates around as much as you want, but as Jade said in a prior post its a meaningless term when used on these forums. There are too many grey areas as to what is/isn't piracy. From my pov the PA are anti-piracy because we will fight corpations that randomly gank anybody for no reason.
These corpations include M00/Jokers/ (the old F-E) biomass etc
However, just because we have our ideals on been anti-pirate does not mean we have to spend every waking hour fighting pirates. When another alliance declares war, then all bets are off. The goal is to win the war. After the war we can go back to our ideals of how we want the PA to be.
and yes the quote at the end was just used to show how pointless it is to quote others from posts that are old and used out of context. I'm glad you can see my reason for doing so and agree on the idiocy of it.

It really doesn't help that you continue to perpetuate that fiction Hicks. The FE demanded that Jericho Fraction be ejected from the NVA as a pre-requisite for Union and NAP. Surprise surprise Jericho Fraction is then ejected. A few weeks later PA gets the NAP with FE. You can repeat the excuses until you are blue in the face but the facts of the matter support the interpretation that you did this for political pragmaticism without the knowledge of much of the alliance.

Im afraid this statement hurts your position. Typically when leading a large body of people. You give them what the want. Not what you want. NVA needed and wanted victories....Seems as though my CEO went throught the troubles of provideing it.

I keep seeing Comments about Unicore and Yet No NCA big mouths decide to touch that subject
When TPS first started Fighting Unicore
This was the time when NCA was torlling on the forums stateing how well the war was going and pa was getting owned
More blah blah
So one could only ask. if the war was going so well then how come you couldnt send forces to help unicore?
as far as im concerened PA was the only people who came down to help unicore before unicore decided to backstab them.
Jericho fraction wasnt there RKK wasnt there fade wasnt there either.
Unicore was basically a buffer to deal with us
Only now you see "TPS" in forum posts by NCA forum trolls because we came up to the north and started killing them.
So It either A. They were lieing about how well NCA was doing about the PA
B. They just quite simply didnt care about unicore.
C. Both
We all know the answer here. well at least the people who think straight...
I still find it funny that members of Unicore still help NCA to this date yet NCA was nowhere to be found When unicore was in trouble.
DeDGuy from Millenium said it best " I feel backstabbed here "
i leave this up to you. i wonder how well the NCA forum trolls can twist this fact around.

Alliance > Corp >= Allied Corps/friends > Self > Other
If you apply the above simple logic to your questions, you will easily find an answer to why we rather fight to keep our alliance alive than help others at the time being.
I've personally taken a great joy in hunting those who hunt themselves. Fighting against people who barely can defend themselves gives me no pleasure, it is too easy. This is the reason I choose to hunt "pirates".
You keep bringing up "NAP with FE" time after time as a very bad commercial. This is three FACTS that you constantly choose to leave out about that:
1, PA had been fighting FE for several months already
2, PA was in a war with other enemies when the NAP was proposed. We had enough to defend our selves
3, (and the most important) In that non agression deal package was that no FE forces would be tolerated hunting carebears in Pureblind or any other region PA had sought to defend for the common good. In other words: For the NAP to continue to be valid they had to stop pirating.
I've had enough "discussing" with most of you. Things like the FE NAP has been replied to thousands of times already. But you keep bringing it up pretending you don't know anything about it. You repeat the same arguments over and over again like mindless chicken cackling away. * -"You know, we play the "good guys" right? We kill pirates, griefers, retards and general subversive elements in the EVE-Community. To the rest, we are friendly and always prepared to help out. Peo |

Actually Ly'sol, you do make a very good point. It was brought to the attention of the NVA council at that time that certain people were unhappy in the very public leadership provided by Jericho Fraction, and certainly by the tactics we employed in the attempt to win the war. The recruitment of Celestial Apocalypse, Millenium, Deathstar and Quantum Industries was greatly contested by Hicks and Gafton and others on the NVA council because they viewed it as "Jade empire building", while others such as Oberon and CDI and RONA contested the use of mercenary corporations and assassins in targetting Forsaken Empire assets in Geminate.
Thinking back, the root of the issue was that some NVA corporations wanted to downplay the agression level of the war and return the NVA fleet to Venal to cover their mining operations primarily, while other more combat-oriented corporations wanted to continue the attacks on the FE homeland and bring "peace at home" through "engagement in enemy territory". I was very much a "hawk" on the NVA council and feld we could never have peace with the FE because their very nature did not allow the possibility of "allies" merely "victims" or "clients".
It makes sense to me that my public statements and military intentions would certainly have annoyed people who were privately planning political union with the FE. I must certainly have been an embarrassing anachronism to that cause!
So ultimately, I do believe this is all politics and pragmatic compromise and behind closed doors (quite literally in the Crice negotiations) deal making rather than any kind of personal issue.
I tend to consider people claiming the "it was all because we hated Jade" position of being either dishonest or misinformed. Fundimentally you don't destroy an alliance and revoke all agreements and prior reputation because you dislike one member of the council with one vote out of twenty four.
If Hicks and Halseth and co really wanted to make a point about not liking me they could have proposed a censure motion on the PA council and (if it passed) asked JF to appoint another rep.
What actually happened was a political coup with no voting or due process in order to clear the decks and prepare for full political reallignment with old enemies.

The term pirate is meaningless now because of this kinda crud.
SPVD, Biomass (in the old days) were pirates, through and through.
Now the term pirate is used so much, that its simply become meaningless and anyone who fires on someone is classed as a pirate, by the party that got shot at.
Quite simply, STFU ya'll and fight it out instead of trying to justify your actions.
Does it matter? Hell no
ITS A GAME, PLAY IT HOW YOU WANT.

Okay I will make one comment on this Unicor thing being thrown around by PA and TPS. What happened with Unicor? There were two separate wars thats what happened. NCA against PA and TPS against Unicor. PA was losing badly and called in CA as reinforcements. Unicor fought long and hard against TPS and ultimately made a decision for the good of its membership to pull out of an untenable position and continue the war from a more favourable fallback location. Now PA is losing again and has called in TPS as reinforcements. Unicor has recovered its fighting strength and is back in the war. Don't believe me? Ask Unicor. And thats it.

ROFL!!!
Unicore was activly Fighting PA before TPS became a problem for them.
No do not try to classify it has 2 seperate wars
it just goes to show Your abandoning of them.
This Has been one war.
I remember reading on the Unicore forums that Kirin from everlasting vendetta asked NCA to come and help them
Db Preacher then replied that "they have their hands full atm and will be down soon"
Is db preacher secretly a dev? sounds like she knows how to answer like one
NCA never came.
Also i remember reading that members of Unicore were upset that in the NCA forums that Unicore was not even metioned as members. and some unicore members were mad about that.
FACT: NCA abandoned Unicore when in a time of need
and you say i should ask unicore?
Sure ill have the Big CHunk of Unicore pilots who Joined TPS cuz they were sick of all the BS.

Maybe you should answer The Ends post instead? That one seems important.
I've been a bystander in this war, having info from several sources. But none in TPS. What he says fits right in with the rest of what I heard and things I figured out myself.
