So it's seems that different wormhole systems have system wide combat modifiers. Anybody have a list of what they are and what their telltales are? |

The worst one I've seen was as follows.
Speed Multiplied 2x (all ships move twice as fast) Weapon Optimal range reduced by 1/2 Weapon FallOff range reduced by 1/2 Drone Activation range reduced by 1/2
This basically means that with long range guns 1600mms, 425mms, or Tachs, you need to be right on top of the spawn to hit it. Drone range also is reduced to 28K with maxed skills. Being able to move twice as fast isn't a huge help in this situation as if you are keeping transversal you can quickly move out of your effective range.

I don't know if you can tell from outside the W-system if there's any modifiers inside - the best you get is the background graphics in the W-system reflecting on the wormhole that leads inside it which could be usefull if you fly frequently inside w-space (maybe it's just me but every time I found a w-system with dark blue background there were a lot of Gravimetric signatures and red ones had a lot of combat signatures - I think it's connected to W-Space regions much like constellations in K-Space).
The one thing I can tell for sure is that in J214739 you get around 50% bonus to your shield HPs. I went inside the system in a passive Drake and got 25,664 shield HPs with 183 sec. recharge rate. Do the math yourself That beast could tank anything - I even considered staying in the system but figured I would run out of ammo eventually. If it's any help, that was a high-sec wormhole R943 type.

Was this something you had to figure out experimentally? Were the effect results reflected in your ship/module descriptions? Was there some kind of telltale so that if you entered such a system in the future, you would know it pretty quickly? What were the effects of the other kinds of systems? Do the effects seem randomly assigned or are they in specific sets?

Also, I'm thinking that these effects explain T3 technology as well as the Sleepers apparent ability to tune themselves to attacks.
Anybody know if Sleepers seem to be getting these effects as well?

We discovered the modifier by checking our systems when we entered. Basically when you go into a WH and the message tickers over that the system has had an effect on your systems, check to see what has changed on your ship. Look at your speed, your armor, your shields, your guns, your rep amount, all of that. Lots of WHs will do different things. I only listed the worst one I've seen.

Edited by: Velociter on 23/03/2009 03:00:32 There is a list somewhere. Basically they are negative effects unless you fly the right ships for that area of space. Though one of them I have yet to decide where the devs were going with it, but most its obvious.

Go to the system map and get info on the sun ------------------------------------------- Should you disagree with me, well I guess that is because I disagree with you. If you have a problem with that please feel free not to tell me. |
