The starmap is quite heinous. The info clouds that automatically appear when you glide over systems is very annoying. Since apocrypha it has gotten worse. I have trouble selecting systems, and the graphics are generally fuzzier, adding to the confusion of using it.
I have been playing for years now, and I have always assumed this facet would be addressed, but now it has gotten worse.
Need i say more?

Removing the automatic pop up of the info windows and instead adding a controlled mechanic would be much more user friendly. Something like shift-click on a star to open, hover to expand and click outside to close would suffice, imho. -------- Ideas for: Mining

This.
Was this new map even properly tested before release?
It's practically impossible to find your current location now, what with all the annoying popups and fancy graphics.
Maps are supposed to provide information in the most easily readable format. If they do this while also looking cool that's fine but they should never sacrifice functionality for better looks.
Here's a case in point:
Almost every map in RL believes that it's useful to have a big red dot (usually) saying YOU ARE HERE.
In contrast, the EvE map, which arguably covers are much larger area (multiple solar systems!) has no such indicator. Indeed, the only way to find your current location is via a menu option.

I agree, I think all it needs is a elay on the info clouds appearing, of a second or so. Navigating around the starmap is all but impossible now, but apparently that has been accepted as broken and will be fixed.
Finally, I'd like to say BRING BACK THE MAP TOGGLE SHORTCUT!
