Timezone: Central Standard Time Zone (Daylight Saving Time active); nearest Chicago, IL.
Game Time: I work midnights so predominately Friday and Saturday evenings and early mornings with short game-times weekday mornings after work.
Current Corp/Alliance: No player-run corporate employment history, yet. Just the default race/bloodline/profession-oriented NPC corp.
What I will NOT do: mining (boring to me: watching the cargo hold fill, racing to station, unload, repeat), spying (honest to a fault, I am, and not to be confused with reconnaissance). Suicide; I enjoy winning at all costs, not losing at all costs.
What I WILL do: PvP, PvE, reconnaissance, escort, solo, piracy, privateer (my political affiliations have not yet been established), mercenary.
*WARNING!* I do NOT have a microphone or the programming necessary for gang work. I am also hesitant to acquire these as yet. Therefore, I'm limitted to solo work ATM.
Abilities: Mission-running; predominately the 10 "Cash Flow for Capsuleers" missions (it made sense to run this set of missions to get into a Rifter "for free"). I've experience playing Freelancer (of which EVE reminds me) and Astro Empires (politically analogous) and Starfleet Battles (both the board game and the PC version).
Geography: Not fully knowledgeable of EVE and the politics therein, I'll start by saying "anywhere" (0.0 thru 1.0).
Recruitment Time Frame: I'm in no hurry. Let's take our time and go through the interview process carefully. I'm still learning both the game mechanics (easy) and the politics (hard) of the EVE Universe.
Age-Range: Adult male in his 40s, full-time job with overtime, married and sometimes saddled with 'Honey Do' lists.

You might find it hard to get accepted by a decent pirate corp, or most other corps with pvp ops and such, if you're not willing to get on TS or vent. just mho

Team Speak.
I've yet to hear of a good corp that doesn't use voice communications. It's so much easier to say something then to take your hands off the mouse to type.

Edited by: Mickey Simon on 25/03/2009 10:33:56 TBH I think your best bet is taking a look at corps that you might be interested in, and applying there. It's fairly unlikely the corp you're suited for is going to see this thread and go "Hey! Let's post an invite to this guy!". It might happen, and I'm not saying it doesn't, but your chances of finding a good corp you like are increased dramatically if you spend some time and figure out which ones are good and which aren't.
edit: just noticed the "Honey Do" list thing and got a chuckle. I miss your birdy Taram :<

Edited by: Orion Core on 25/03/2009 10:49:58 Considering my newness to the game, and my lacking Team Speak, Ventrilo, or any other voice utility, I doubt if there's a corp who would instantly see me as "he's the one for us!"
Note to self: define the Corp for me.
edit: or consign myself to being "corp-less."

Its still the wrong forum. Not only that but the good pirate c corps will see that you attempted to take a shortcut and break the rules doing it. While this might seem like a good quality for a pirate what it actually means is that you'd rather be leading a gang than taking orders (because you want it done now and you like to think for yourself), so all you have really done is restrict yourself to pirate corps that want to take a punt on a new FC.
Also, my t2 cat will take your 5 t1 cats any day.
Edit: Changed the word merc to pirate as i misread the OP

While your at it you fly spaceships with modules fitted, maybe you should try to promote yourself in the ships and modules section too.
In case you didn't get it the first couple of times... Recruitment channel is thataway.

Well written, but no corp that you would want to be in is going to accept you if you can't use TS/Vent.

OP:
You dont really need a mic. If you have speakers and can install vent or ts you should be fine. As long as you listen to the FC or what is going on it would be a great help. Also I hear Rancer Defence League is recruiting atm.

lol
but if you are looking for a pirate corp to join, you're gonna have to be fully committed to pvp and such. for a true pirate corp, get used to not flying in high security space, either.
