...and last week I was still able to travel Amarr space peacefully with auto pilot. And no, I'm not in FW.
I guess it's my bad Amarr standing. It dropped to -5,37 (effective after diplomacy) recently and I guess because of Fed Navy missions against Amarr. Is -5 (effective) the limit which leads to agression?
If so, what can I do? Learning diplomacy helps only until I have that skill at 5. But maybe I could do some ratting against Sanshas in amarr 0.0? Would this help in the long run?
Btw: I don't want to do missions for Amarr because I'm about to rise my Gallente standing.
Btw2: detail question. What lowers my standing when doing missions against Amarr - shooting them or finish the mission?
Thanks for any hint.

Well you might be able to raise standing by doing missions for a faction that is linked to the Amarr empire(Khanid/Caldari, etc.) alternativly you can train diplomacy a bit higher.
The only way to avoid loosing standings with a faction is by never shooting at it and never completing storyline missions for the opposing faction. "Subtlety is a thing for philosophy, not combat. Diplomacy 5 should be enough to put you at 5.00 even, (or 4.99, as you cant reach true -10 / +10) which would make the amarr not attack you. _________________ - Rivqua - --- R.E.P.O. --- |

Ok, thanks. Getting diplomacy to 5 and never fall below -5 that way sounds interesting!
But wouldn't help ratting Sanshas too? Or does it rise my security status only?

Killing rats will only rise your security standing (if they are pirates) and lower your standing with the relevant pirate faction.
Derivative standing changes from storylines should never get you lower than -5 unmodified standing, you will go lower only killing ships.

raising amarr will lower your gallente tho, you cant have it both ways ... well, its possible, but its ALOT of work.

I have pretty decent standing for Amarr and Gallente i'm sure both are over 7.
Just don't do missions that inovolve attacking the faction directly, so if you mission for Gallente don't take the missions where you have to fight the Amarr empire.
And when you mission for Amarr don't do the ones that involve attacking the Gallente Fed.

Doing Sisters of Eve missions should raise your standing to all the Empire factions as I understand it....
(Not sure if this applied to Amarr or just the other 3)

Wrong. True standings with a faction that are worse than -9 can not be repaired with diplomacy 5. -9.99 and dip 5 gives you -5.99
Sisters of Eve do not give postive standings to all empire factions btw, no factions with enabled agents help with all factions. (edited to add, Interbus doesn't have storyline agents and concord agents have been disabled)
Datacenter agents do not help once you're past -2 effective standing. They won't talk to you
Ratting only help sec status.
Your best options (if you've been doing gallente missions to trash your amarr standing) are Ammatar/Khanid missions

It would be nice if there is possibility to raise your standing with opposite faction, but as far as i know once you hit 10 with your faction, opposite will go to -5 (thats if you dont take single mission against them) and if you raise your standing with opposite faction to 10, your will go down to -5 and vice versa.
It maybe should be slow or/and hard, but not impossible.

The navies are wussies, and easy enough to avoid, just don't use autopilot through their space... and you'll be fine.

I had the same problem, like u OP. I trained diplomacy up to IV but still, I was below -5 standing..(I didn't want to invest so many days for maxing the skill). Thankfully, my Ammatar standing, had risen above -2 so I could grind missions with them. Completing storyline missions for Ammatar, gives u a standing boost with Amarians, too.As far as I noticed, it mostly hurts your Minmatar standings, and not Gallente. So I grinded lvl2 and lvl3 missions for Ammatar fleet, and done the storyline missions, 'till I got my amar standing up to -4. (I only wanted to be able to fly through their space).
If I recall correctly, I used: lvl1 quality -14 in Yuzier lvl1 quality 19 in Sasta lvl2 Q-19 in Hasiari lvl2 Q19 in Radima and finally got access to lvl3 Q15 in Salashayama.
All high sec systems and close to each other.
Get yourself a T2 frig and grind lvl2s.It would be faster.
Hope that helps.

..and while you work on your standing, you can add Amarr-controled regions to your avoidance list.
Works well, I am working on this atm and did that (in Derelik for Ammatar too) -Angel |

IIRC, Sister of EVE no longer give you positive faction with all empires. They are now disliked by Amarr and Caldari, so those factions will fall if you do missions for Sisters.

It would be interesting to know a way to get all four empire faction to a standing of 6.5 or more (with Diplomacy 5).
I just wrote a small program to make some calculations, but even with doing only Ammatar and Sisters Missions, I don't get past 4.75 with Amarr, while having the others at 6.5+.
