Amarr Imperial Shipment

I'm putting together my carrier, I have bought all the modules and now starting to look at the fighters.
My question is this: how many do people usually have? and of what type? With my fit I can field 10 fighters, so do I want say 5 for backup as well? or another full set?
This is for a Thanatos FYI

you need at least carrier IV to have a 10 fighter fit thats anywhere near a good idea.
one DCU is tolerable but 5 is a horrible idea.
As for replacements, standard procedure is to usually fill the dronebay with fighters and then use leftover space for hundreds of little drones ___________

Firbolgs are horrible
5x Einherjar/Templar/Dragonflies or some other combination like 7xEinherjars 4xTemplar/Dragonflies
Doesn't really matter at all. -------------------------- NOTR B A N A N A S |

Thanatos has 100Km3 of drone bay so you can put 19 fighters in there and still have room for many many flights of normal drones (warriors, ECM, Ogres etc).
You probably want at least 2 or 3 different types of fighters so you can vary damage. Firbolg and einherji seem most popular with Templar as a damage switch.
You may also have situations where you want more DPS so you add another DCU or two so it's useful to have extras on the ones you normally use.

I would drop the explosive hardner. Put on another eanm.
Drop the dcu. A dcu is only really useful if you're going to hug a station or a pos. Use the slot for a cloak if traveling or another remote cap rep/remote shield transfer.

pwned!
As the post above says fill your drone bay with as many fighters as you can and use the rest for normal drones, doesn't matter a huge amount which ones. I generally carry roughly the same number of each.

Fighters are expensive. Don't fill your drone bay with extras. Keep extras in a nearby station.

Take the DCU off, stop embarassing whoever designed your cap ship.
I like Einherji's because they are the quickest and look totally badass.

Can someone tell me if this is right :
Dragonfly - 75 damage (50 kin /25 therm) rof 6,38 sec damage modifier x 4,25
75 x 4,25 divided by 6,38 = 49,96 dps
Firbolg - 75 damage (25 kin / 50 therm) rof 5,25 sec damage modifier x 3,5
75 x 3,5 divided by 5,25 = 50 dps
I am not sure if this is nearly right but i am just interested in the theoretical dps of the fighters. Normally i just use einherji and firbolgs to mix the damage and i think it does not really matter which fighters you use as long as you just mix them a bit.
What i also see is that firbolgs have better tracking than dragonfly but on the other side they orbit a bit faster. So i am not sure if the better tracking still matters then.

All fighters do the same 50 base DPS or 100 with skill at 5. But their velocity and HP is very different.
