So there I was mid mission, sentry drones out, heavy DPS incoming and I get a message.
"You will now be disconnected as your account has expired".
WTF ? I say, never had that happen before. Always used to give you grace period until you log off.
So ten seconds later I'm kicked out of the game, no chance to scoop drones, close mission, etc.
Hardly fair is it CCP ? Show some consideration to your customers eh ?
Must have missed that one in the patch notes...

Actually, I think this is a bad move. A lot of players subscribe with game time codes and it's not immediately obvious to them when their account expires. I know my main account is subbed up for something like a year but the others I'd have to log into the account page with to check. In light of this post I'll do exactly that but there are lots of people that won't see this post. I mean it's one thing to be unable to log in due to your sub running out but if you were disconnected during pvp due to it, it could be terrible.

They do.
But they define 'customer' as the people who actually pay. -

I CAN NOT believe the drivel that comes from you brain dead CCP fanboi sheep. I mean seriously, read the frigging OP again and consider for a moment how you'd react if your telephone comnpany, power company or bank took action 10 seconds after a bill came due.
It's **** poor customer service and nothing more. http://www.ezy-english.com/ |

Wrong! There are thousands of us that actually pay attention to detail and pay our bills on time or early!
As the old saying goes "you get what you pay for" or in this case didn't pay for.

Funny, If a DD gets denied from my bank, I'm sure the bank takes less then 10 seconds to drop a charge on my rear end.
However:
Phone and Power are a use then pay service (unless your on a meter) Eve is a pay to use service.
Or in other words, No Pay.. No Use.

Eve is a pay to use service.
It's not. It's a paid contract service.
eg. Pay as you go Mobile Phone is a pay to use service. Your billed for the calls you make. A paid contract service is when you pay your mobile operator a monthly fee and then get free calls. Which is how Eve works.
But this is beside the point, which is:
a) You only get 10 seconds warning, b) Nobody told us about the change. (Did they ?)
Had I known I would have paid more attention to my expiration time.

Simple solution is to have the client/server warn you a couple days in advance of your account expiring if you use GTCs, or if you don't have an active billing plan.

Lol all you guys jerks in RL or what, could it really be possible to have atleast 1 thread without tons of idiots flaming some guy??
This is clearly a wrong...
If your online when your Subscription is about to expire, a warning should atleast pop up.. not just disconnect you in 10 seconds.
Anyone saying otherwise that a warning message shouldnt pop up (Like Downtime counter etc.) should have their brain checked..
Right Flame away... i dont care

The point is that CCP gives you DIRECT access to check when your account expires. So the OP is ridiculous.

Yeah, but they give you like ten notices. Have you ever tried to evict someone? It is not easy if they don't go willingly.

Hah, CCP fanboys make me laugh. Such a rabid bunch
They should just cut you off at downtime instead of in the middle of gameplay. Or give you a warning and a countdown like they do before downtime hits?
Yes, consideration to the player is far too much to ask for around here
But, yeah. These forums seriously need some indicator that the post has ended and the sig has started. |

Had this happen during a gate camp, more than a little harsh and poor customer service to do it out of the blue. 10 minute warning at least would be nice.

I disagree with your example however, Yes, I could have worded that better, I ment that you pay ahead not behind for the service. In Eve's case, You pay for the next 30 days, not the last 30 days.
