OK, here's the low-down.
I saw a Guristas Death Dealer off by itself from it's little herd, so I went in with my Taranis to kill it.
I got in there, webbed it, got 3 light drones on it.. took down its shields and armor pretty fast, but it still managed to get a bit out my optimal, and it just wouldn't die! :)
It's friends were also on the way in and they joined-in on the melee, so I had to bug-out.. just in time too.. I got out with 10.6% structure left.
WHEW ! Now *THAT* was close. Nearly lost three modal light neutron blasters and my E5 energy vampire.
So anyway....
I went to a good safespot of mine and ejected from the Taranis and got in a shuttle to check something.
I went back a few mins later and attempted to reboard my Taranis, but I couldn't! Here's what it said:
"This ship is too damaged to board. Somehow, it has managed to stay together."
Since there's currently no way to repair other ships or to ferry ships in space back to station in an indy or whatever, I'm sorta in a jam. is there anything that's known to get around this?
Is this a bug or what?
I was clearly able to fly the ship, and it sure didn't mind me ejecting from it. I think it has to do with my skills giving my ship a hull bonus, and that bonus is gone once I eject... but if that's the case, then it seems like the Taranis should have exploded the second I ejected, but it didn't.
Oh well, any thoughts and ideas would be appreciated. :)

Your skill was the only thing holding that ship together, since you ejected, the ships' stats reverted back to normal, and this has negative structure now. The ship is as good as dead. -----------------------------------

I believe that the GMs will resolve this if you petition it. It isn't the first time this has happened.

that happened to me with a megathron, i had like 6% structure left... but i switched ships in station, so i was able to use the station repair window (partly, coz it would have cost me 9m, i only had to repair 500k to be able to board again). lol

Yes, you have the cause there. When you eject, it loose your skill bonus and go into negative HP. And yes, the ship should have exploded.
Don't think there's anything to do but petition and wait to see if the GM's decide to give it back to you or blow it up :/

this gave rise to the bug of invincible ships, thats why ya cant board it. Peeps would board a ship with negative hp and it would be unkillable.
I remember finding a kestrel at a curse jump in that just wouldnt ****in die, i flew it to a curse blockade and sat there a while as they shot me, then flew off laffing after they ran outta missiles

The ship should have blown up.
I believe there's a fix for that in a patch, if it was one of the previous patches, it obviously didn't work

Why do skills not add to the max amount of hull / armor instead of the last
Thats the problem..
If you have 2 hull left you should have 2 hull even with no skills at all just a change of max amount you can have
"viper zulu > toast has killed our whole corporation ships at least once"

It sounds like everyone agrees that the ship should have blown up the second you ejected. If you file a petition the GMs should be able to blow it up for you. :( (it sucks, but I can't see any reason you'd end up getting the ship fixed and returned)
