I was fighting some sleepers the other day when i realized that my active armor tank for my brutix was really, really bad. In EFT it says that with my skills i can tank a 143 DPS in reinforced mode with this setup:
Highs Heavy Neutron Blaster II x 6 Core Probe Launcher
Meds 10MN MWD Cap Recharger II x 3
Lows MAR II Suitcase II Armor Explosive hardener II EANM II Reactor Control Unit II
Rigs Anti-Kinetic Pump I Anti-Thermic pump I
Somebody please give me good setup for this damn ship

have you tried downgrading to Ions and pitting a 2nd repper and a cap booster?

And better rigs, just use auxilary nano pumps. ---------------------------------------------

This. Resist armour rigs are so expensive for what they are, best just to use nano pumps.
Edit: Personally I would downgrade to electrons to remove that RC.

Ok I took your suggestion for the Ion blasters, works pretty well, thanks.

The Armor Resist Rigs are pretty much useless IMHO... In 90+% of cases, a trimark works better in buffer tanks, and an Aux Nano Pump better for active tanked ones.
Moreover, armor resist rigs hurt your speed too much for the benefits, and cost almost as much as the above, unlike Shield Resist rigs which are considerably cheaper than extenders or purgers etc, thus widely used...

The Brutix setup I use to great effect is:
7x Ions (whatever type you can fit/afford really) w/ navy antimatter
10MN MWD II Point Web Cap booster w/ 800s
2x MAR II Damage Control II Exp hardner II EANM II
If you want to rig it go for Aux Nanos.
Tanks well enough to last while you deal awesome damage. But meh, depends on your target.

Quoting for emphasis. The reason that shield resist rigs are so popular is that they are generally pretty cheap, whereas armor resist rigs are not. If you're ever going to use armor rigs, just go with trimarks or nano-pumps.

In terms of raw component costs, both types of resist rigs are roughly equal. The problem is that some of the components of armor resist rigs are in much higher demand which drives their prices up. If both sets of components were equally available and in equal demand, they would cost roughly the same amount. It's the player driven market that sets those prices, not CCP. -------------------- "I am hard pressed on my right; my centre is giving way; situation excellent; I am attacking." - Ferdinand Foch at the Battle of the Marne |

This, especially on a ship like the Brutix which is already borderlining being too slow in order to be an effective blasterboat. I think that you'll also defeats the point of the ship by slapping on expensive rigs, with its main advantage being its small pricetag.

I find neutrons (due to fitting reqs) are useless in PVE, as has been said, you are much better off fitting ions and using the extra room to fit a much better (i.e. 2 x MAR II) tank... --

this. 60% webs + slow and heavy + blasters = bad. which is a shame cause brutix is such a nice looking ship.
