What I've always liked about EVE Online is that the market is player-driven. The only other MMO I've ever played where that was really the case was... well, I guess it was Star Wars Galaxies, actually. This indicates a frankly unthinkable amount of trust in the players on the part of CCP. Players mine the resources. Players research the blueprints. Players assemble the merchandise. Players make the sales. Players pay the money. There's no bullshit grinding for legendary purples or any of that nonsense. There's no bind-on-equip (except for rigs, but they're a special case). Anything you find in the world can be sold to another player for cash that that player earned.
That's brilliant. That's what makes EVE appeal to me - not its lacklustre space combat, not its tedious mission grinding, not its asinine nullsec politics. It's the fact that CCP trusts us with the market. With a few exceptions there aren't NPC vendors. There's this nigh unconscious knowledge that everything I buy on the market has been delivered to me through hours, days, weeks, months, years of player work. Whenever I buy a T2 ship, I know this - alliances fought and bled for the territory in which they could find moons to harvest the precious technetium from. Starbase technicians tore their hair out managing the reaction chains. Miners slaved for hours to gather the morphite. Some inventor wrangled his skills and implants just so to get a workable BPC, or else spent billions acquiring a functional BPO. An industrialist spent hours on his spreadsheets to work out optimal production quotas and the right factory to do the assembly at. Some freighter pilot probably spent half the night dragging that ship to the place I bought it. Dozens of man-hours of work went into this single product that I now contemplate in the market window.
I paid 30 million ISK for it and lost it ten minutes later because I forgot to ask for a scout before I jumped into low-sec.
That's goddamn beautiful.

As one of the 2-3 Feral Druids in the whole world who tanked original WoW up to including Naxxramas (before the MMO turned into garbage that is), I have an amazing story behind my shoulders. A story of the 130 people I and the other officers had to coordinate every day for months, when hard core meant having 3 teams of 40 people alternating into raids. A story about the one significant server event that saw thousands and thousands of players cooperating to defeat the ancient evil gods. And I and my guild were there, protagonists.
Sadly that game was canned since the beginning but was canned damn well. Some adventures though, were very epic. Like being able to wield the first legendary sword on the server, competing for the first world kills and much more. Too bad the game became idiotville past the next expansion. Was fun till it lasted. Auditing | Collateral holding and insurance | Consulting | PLEX for Good Charity

Hmm, now that's interesting so of that 70% a large chunk would be low/0.0 pilot alts you suggest?
Low Sec and 0.0 must be terrible if all these people feel the need to be in High Security space.
CCP has had 9 years of attempts to fix low and 0.0 space to make it attractive these obviously disaffected people that feel the need to fill High Security space with alts rather than let go of the security blanket.
Maybe it's time to give up and say it's never going to work
I'd propose if these people who cling to their alts are to be believed we should admit failure and give up on the concept of eve being a dangerous and dark place and finally embrace the inner carebear and hug what say you?

You seem to be under the impression that the CFC doesn't have a huge logistics and trading operation.
if they don't build many ships in 0.0, that's more because 0.0 is a terrible, dreadful, handicapped place to build ships in than because they don't want to or they don't know how. Greetings capsuleer Kreshant,
It is a possibility. Judging by the communication on this CONCORD sponsored forum there are several pilots that are so severely risk averse they will not even jump through a lower security system. They are the ones that would identify as high security pilots.
Conversely, those who prefer the lawless frontier where true riches can be found are likely to traverse higher security areas with comparable ease. They may identify as low security or even null security pilots; but are equally at home in high security.
Why would you have a co-pilot in Empire held, high security space? It is where the major trade hubs are and where you can deliver the goods mined from moons and purchase items manufactured in reasonable security.
Additionally, those who pirate on the risk averse and seek to milk them for every ISK they own will do so in higher security. I know that while I'm predominantly in lower security space; I have a co-pilot that ranges between Nonni and Jita; another in Rens and one that, despite my please, seeks to remain in Amarr.
Granted however, this is only a logical analysis and my example is far from empirical. It is by no means factual and we won't know the truth until CONCORD releases the raw, real numbers from their gates.

Mining and mission running are part of the game as much as PVP, PVE, Commerce, scams, etc. are , otherwise mining or mission running simply wouldn't be possible or would have been removed from the game long ago.
And people might have their reasons why they choose to play the way they play. It might be a hard concept to grasp for some, but some people just don't have the time, the desire nor the need to Pew Pew 23/7.

Like I said, if people weren't meant to run missions or mine, it simply wouldn't be possible. Heck, why even bother include both as part of the tutorial, if according to you, CCP never intended anyone to mine or do missions?

Greetings capsuleer Hansen,
A more correct way to state that would be:
"Had I know you wanted to look like an idiot and didn't want to make sense I wouldn't have said anything. I'll do that in the future then."
Didn't is a contraction of did and not, with the apostrophe standing in for the letter you dropped. The same applies to wouldn't (would not) and I'll (I will). It is normal to use a full stop, often referred to as a period, at the end of a complete sentence that is not a question or an exclamation.
Happy to be of service and looking forward to your future corrections.
